So…does anyone have an idea of what the British MoM ride is (just yes or no)? And if yes, does it sound like something that could be the “answer” to Rise?

Rather the opposite. I feel that the initial plans, which were supposedly for a trackless ride, were scrapped so they *wouldn’t* be compared to Rise. I do not know what the new ride system would be exactly, but some theories out there are hoping for a return of the Kongfrontation suspended accordion track system, maybe for a flying car ride? That remains to be seen though.

It's just not the right mindset to think of Universal's answer to Disney or Disney's answer to Universal. Everything is just "what's next" not what can we do to show up the competition.

Fair. What I’m asking about is that Rise is generally being considered the greatest dark ride of all time (it seems like it could make that case!). So I hope there’s something in EU that could enter that convo.

I would be happy if they didn't put a ride inside the British MoM. If they gave us a 20minute show I'd be happy with that and maybe a small gift shop with screen used props in it. But I'm sure I'm alone in that thought.

Comcast wants this to be THE crown jewel of any of their parks. In Florida, its the first time Comcast gets to design and build a theme park totally from scratch. And its never been a secret that many in Comcast hold a Disney grudge. I expect this is gonna be an all-out attempt to be the best park in Florida theme wise at least.

The Wall street journal yesterday posted a report Comcast is at increasing speed planning to merge with ViacomCBS/Roku....how will this change plans if at all?

Instead of Spongebob, can we get a Last Airbender land instead....

Well, that would give them the rights to Star Trek,....

I guess it is kind of unprecedented so I can't say for sure, but I really doubt they build any Viacom properties into opening day EU. I definitely see them coming as expansions later down the line, but I think any Viacom IP will miss the boat by a bit.

I do think the benefit with the lapse of time, is that it puts things into perspective for Comcast; of the potential value and growth that the parks can have. Even if it's just looking at Orlando, Osaka, and Singapore--they have to be optimistic about the probabilities for future investment for the parks and resorts in general. And with EU, unlike Beijing; Comcast really does have that potential to take everything they have learned from all of the projects at UC West/East; and to make a knockout park.

I have some opinions of Comcast and Viacom, it'd be better suited elsewhere, but I don't think this would automatically mean investment for Epic Universe on Day one with ViacomCBS IP. If anything, there's an area that could, very suddenly, benefit from pre-established plans that can be inserted (but that can be said of elsewhere).

It would be illegal for Comcast to own ViacomCBS as it is illegal for one company to own 2 broadcast networks. They would have to jettison CBS.

Jettison CBS and CBS Sports in this case, yes? Similar to how Disney had to jettison off Fox Sports?

I believe just CBS' broadcast network. CBS Sports is not a broadcast channel. It is cable/streaming only. So it wouldn't be effected by the FCC rules.

Disney had to jettison FOX Sports because they already owned ESPN and the FTC determined that Disnay also owning FOX Sports would create a monopoly. Comcast wouldn't have that problem, especially since they just shuttered the NBC Sports channel.

It does feel like they want this to be their Magic Kingdom, in the sense that everyone who goes to WDW will visit that park, maybe not all the others, but that park will definitely be visited on peoples trip to WDW. Same for Epic Universe and UOR, you basically have to visit that park. Also it’s really their home base now, will possibly hold stiff from all the IPs they own/work with, it just makes sense. It’ll be interesting to see what Mario does to the market in Orlando.

As long as Islands has Hogsmeade, it'll still be THE park.

It will be the *section* but compared to the rest of IOA, EU is definetly designed to be a big step up in overall park theming.
