It definitely depends on the touring strategy. For most, I think you may be right.
For me, it’s inconsequential. I never needed it once.
I’d always rope drop with early entry, hit krakatau multiple times, hit all other rides starting with back right (honu and ika monoa), then slides that fall into water, drop slide (sometimes) and then fearless until the other stuff opened. Leave around 1 after lunch back to hotel and rest up until dry parks that evening.
Granted, I always walk fast and am in good shape and fly up the stairs, so all that walking and climbing is no big deal. So I realize I’m not the norm.
Moral of the story is- get there early with a plan, and it’s still enjoyable and not much changes. Get there later or you’re a late riser- this hurts a lot.
