I love how during HHN it's all "ORIGINAL ORIGINAL ORIGINAL!!! NO MORE IPS!!!" But attractions? You want to level the ONE original area in all of UO, POE excluded. Sure we lost a third of it to Potter, but what's left is still fantastic as it always was. I'm really tired of hearing people wanting to scrap stuff for the sake of scrapping stuff, especially when they don't even have a replacement in mind. I'm all for coming up with new ideas and talking about what would be great to add, but that doesn't mean stuff always has to be destroyed. If you don't like it, don't ride it. I'm not particularly into Suess. I have no kids or significant nostalgic attachment to the theme, but I would never say "Let's tear out Suess and put in something cool!" I just walk through it on my way elsewhere. I also understand space constraints, but as Kong is showing us, they can do a lot with a little.

I'm alright with original as long as there are engaging attractions...LC has literally nothing

Yes, and maybe stay open later. It gets tough to get a decent meal after 4:00 since most of the good places to eat close so darn early.

I thought it would be fun if they did something like Temple of Peril at Disney Paris

Except Poseidon's Fury and 8th Voyage of Sinbad, both relatively major attractions and one's I LITERALLY enjoy. I don't believe I'm alone in that either.

(Excluding POE) TLC is the only land without rides. It's a prime candidate for demolition.

Trust me it won't be any fun. I've been on it and it's a small crappy coaster that even backwards isn't good. You are better off with 7dmt.

My point is that you can wish for new stuff that you would enjoy without wishing for the removal of stuff you don't, but others do enjoy. Wishing for the removal of stuff just because you personally don't enjoy it is a dick move.

Is it really a dick move if it gonna create something that everyone can enjoy instead just a small handful of people? LC needs to be replaced ASAP even at the risk of losing Mythos if they can find an equal or better concept to replace it with.

Apparently so...progress is necessary for Universal to keep evolving..Jaws to Diagon, Stage 44 to Transformers..LC to whatever they plan..

I often feel like the majority of people waiting in line for Poseidon's Fury think that it is an actual ride. That amazing façade screams dark-ride, not really walk-through.

"Gary Goddard who was hired by Universal in 2002 to try to fix the show..... recommended putting a mine car ride inside the show building. He felt it would be a certain hit. He said, 'It was drummed into me by{ Disney legends} Marc Davis, Bill Justice, Herb Ryman-if there was one thing that was an unwritten rule at Imagineering, it was that walk-in attractions don't work'. Unfortunately the entire budget for the remake was $2.8 million and Universal did not want to throw any more money at it. Goddard said, 'They just wanted to make sure it was no longer embarrassing'. The budget was $2.8 million for the remake, yet I hear the original was superior. It's still not late to follow Goddard's recommendation. Even a 4-D theatre would be better. "Atlantis Adventure 4D". My perception is that you walk around IOA to sit down and have fun on a ride, not keep on standing through it. (Especially after those 45 minute waits Mad Dog was posting for PF.)

Embarrassing??? It was one of two of the only attractions that I exited and got right back in line for back in 1999. The other was Spider-Man. Back then, the room swap only happened at the end... and completely blew my mind.

Never did the first one, but I actually have done the present and I like it, though I would probably would prefer a dark ride....Here's a quote from the same book by Universal Executive Phil Hettema concerning Poseidon "There is a certain point in the development of a project where if the concept is not in place and there is not a very clear vision of what you are trying to achieve, the team by nature grows so large that it becomes expedient that things have to move forward. Decisions start to get made. If the story had been able to come together and be so coherent and the effects were so much of the story, then everybody would have been clear about why they were doing this... (the show) was a kit of parts that was assembled but the sum was less than the parts. It was a hige amount of technology and effects put into an illusion that nobody got",,,, Very interesting.....The original attraction cost was $80 million

LC has been neutered from the once-great island it was. Now, it's a mere shadow of its former self that most people pass through only because they HAVE to...to get to/from Potter. Sinbad is now extremely tired and Poseidon--while amazing back in its day--just doesn't deliver like it once did. Sure, that's my opinion, but it's one that is shared by plenty of folks. If they want to leave it (LC) in place, they have to do SOMETHING to make it a draw once more. Replace Poseidon with a killer dark ride or redesign/replace the Sinbad show. I love the atmosphere in LC...it just needs a new draw. If doing that is a "dick move" and I were the boss in charge of these decisions, Kelise would be referring to me as MR. "Dick Move," because the "island" desperately needs a rejuvenating shot in the arm. Ideally, something family friendly.

At the end of the day, it doesn't matter...we're just having a fun discussion on what we'd like to see happen.

LC has the most impressive structures on the resort IMO. PF should deff be replaced with a new ride, but maybe save the facade.
I feel like a nice flat ride would do wonders to the lost continent.

This is true. I hate this about Universal but they just wont get my money after a certain time of day if there isn't a sit down eatery open.

That is so interesting..thank you! I would have loved to have seen this happen, but I can't blame Universal for wanting to not spend anymore on it...
