Well duh, there's always things that get priority, but the current discussion is about River Adventure's animation... a factor that literally makes the ride what it is. So for the amount of budget that attractions get towards those features, River Adventure seems to be favored. So its kind of ironic how much complaining there is regarding that - given the circumstance.

River Adventure isn't "favored" any more than anything else. If anything, it shares a large chunk of budget and TLC time with Ripsaw and Jaws. Problem is it's a programming issue that they've CHOSEN to create. Like I said, it's cheaper to maintain and the stuff lasts longer if it doesn't move as much. People like River Adventure sure, but NO ONE goes TO IOA to see it specifically. It's not a destination attraction. Whatcha see is whatcha get on this one guys, sorry. Don't expect to see them ramped up.

Be happy with the trikes.... eventually :look:

I was on this yesterday and most things were working properly. The gate opened, the saurapod did it's thing (no fog though), the stegosaurus was in limited movement but it worked well enough. The spitting hadrosaur was MIA, but the boat rocked and a giant splash happened next to the boat when the hadrosaur knocks you off course, the one compy was not on, and the raptor box was stuck down so it did not shake or fall, the raptors were working as well as the spitters (name escapes me), and the Rex needs to wake up faster becuase we were in the 4th row and as we came up to him for a while he just sat their lifeless before he started moving.

I am troubled...

Is the Hogwarts Castle going to be viewable while riding the River Adventure ride?

One would imagine - or at least one would like to imagine - that this issue would have been thought out. The imaging comes in because I've asked the SAME question and never gotten a straight answer.

Honestly I can't imagine the island needing anything more than what Is has already, except for Triceratops Encounter which should really come back.

Sure I'm all for a new JP ride, that would be brilliant.. I just don't see It happening.

Although with JP4 coming soon, I may have to eat my words.

That is meaningless. If they were smart, they'd mask the back side of the castle part with rockwork so it looks like a mountain in the distance from the JP Perspective. That's what I would do. But is it what THEY would do.........

Better that than a castle- but the variable is what happens when the castle torrets spring up over the warehouse roof. That's where I hope they do something and not have a castle (or warehouse-shaped castle) visible.

From what I have noticed over the years, I think it is harder to keep a water ride looking good. I think it takes a lot more work just look at Ripsaw Falls and Journey to Atlantis, they close them down every 1-2 years just to repaint and spruce things.

This is my idea of how Jurassic park could expand. First bring back the Triceratops Encounter! Its just sitting there collecting dust when it could be enjoyed by so many people. The only time I have ever seen this attraction was when it had been shut down for like two years and the skin was taken off the dinos. It looked so amazing and I just couldnt believe universal decided to shut it down. Getting back on topic all they would have to do is reopen it with actors/staff always in the building and NO tours. I think one of the reasons why people disliked it so much was because since it had tours it would acquire long lines with people believeng it was a ride, but by just making it a continous walk through with the dinos always going it would just be like a hidden treasure in JP. I also have taken into consideration that if triceritops would continually be operating they would be bound to have technical breakdowns here and there, but since there are more than two dinos it would be easy to reroute the "trail" if that happened. Furthermore, when I try to create ideas for rides I always go on google maps to see where some empty space is, and JP has alot of it! On the left side of the water holding area for JP is a gigantic area of empty space thats used for IOA storage. A perfect place for a... RollerCoaster! At first I couldnt even imagine a coaster in jurrasic park other than a B&M flyer which is already in use at SeaWorld. I thought that a coaster would deminish ALL sight lines and make no sense in JP because there wouldnt be a strong enough story line for it. So one day I watched Jurassic Park and found an idea for an amazing storyline. You start out in a JP welcome facility (since the empty space is right next to the entrance of the land)Then, (even though this is suppost to be in the Discovery Center, IOAs doesnt include it) you are queued through what seems to be a walk through version of the "ride" in the movie. Guest will see Mr. DNA, the JP Control Center, etc, and then be directed into a JP briefing area(pre-show)You are welcomed to the land and declared speacial guests as your shown how it works etc. when alarms start to sound, a paranoid JP employee comes onto the screen and explains that the power has suddenly shut off throughout the land causing the caged gates to become inoperable. He explains that the only thing keeping the welcome and discovery centers in power is a small back up generator not powerfull enough to power the gates. As he Frantically explains what to do, he gets word through his ear monitor that a Spinosaurus(JP3) has escaped and the maintanence crews are off today. He suddenly gets an idea, and explains that theres a switch in the generator facility that powers up the main generators to JP and is only able to be reached by assisted control vehicles which are stationed consequently at the welcome center and the main character guy is broadcasting "live" from the discovery center so he cant possibly reach them. However you so happen to be there so he asks for your help, and of couse you say yes! He then explains the saftey guidelines and just has he thanks you and says good luck the screen fuzzes up with him explaining that one of the dinos must have smashed the generator when the screen goes blank and as nice surprise the preshow room goes dark and a raptor pops out from the roof with the exit door opening. Since the pre-show is placed towards the front of the queue the next half has the chance to be one of the creepiest queues ever made, with dozens of chances for dino scares and dim flickering lights and sparks. You board the train and notice theres a walkie talkie clipped to the front of the car and after leaving the loading area you enter a small indoor portion of the ride were things take a nasty turn a the main guy interupts saying that the spinosaurus and raptors have interfeared with the track and that hes going to stop the train when you screams and the radio fizzes out just then a dino pops out of nowhere as the train turns and drops outside and onto the lift which is themed to go over the now torn fence. Then from there the ride gets crazy since the tracks have been corrupted by the spino and raptors, during this dinos could try to attack the train as it goes through an intense layout, and then the ride brakes as it prepares to enter the generator facility( this would be a mirrored version of the scene in the first movie) the ride then enters its dark ride portion a.k.a the generator facilty and sudenly the walkie talkie comes back on with the main guy heavily breathing and saying that you have to hit the backup button and get out now as you travel though the dismantled facility where you finally reach the control panel and the smash into it(brake suddenly like the mummy) where the guy explains that you did it and the power has been restored when all of a sudden the spino AND raptor attack from both sides of you as the train rotates on the turntable and then drops out of the building, then goes through just a little bit more coaster and then brakes at the rescue facility where the ride is over and everything turns out just fine! My thoughts on the actuall coaster at first were that the storyline gives a really good advantage for an intense coaster but it cant be large because it has to go through the midcourse darkride portion all in a somewhat confined space. Fortulatley after looking at alot of coaster designs I found the El Loco By S&S Power. The track is extremly small and could easily be expanded into this amazing story, plus it goes in a 111 degree drop! I mean Universal does have the most unique coasters imagine what this http://www.rcdb.com/2722.htm?p=21872 would be like expanded, with dinosaurs attacking you and other stuff. The coaster has the ability to pick up speed without being 100 feet tall so with alot of trees it would blend in perfectly with JP! So there you have it my idea of the greatest IOA land expansion EVER!

That sounds really sick. Words cannot express how happy I would be if something like that would be built.

That type of coaster would result capacity issues...

However, your extremely detailed idea was FREAKING AWESOME!!!

I LOVE the storyline idea, but I'm not sure how well a coaster would work for that storyline. Maybe a ride system like Dinosaur?

I love the story-driven idea and would LOVE to see this or anything in that ballpark.

(but I'm not holding my breath, what with Potter being in the spotlight for years to come and the question of what to do with Marvel eventually now that Disney owns it.....)

I'd love to have triceratops encounter re-open. Also, it'd be cool to havea John Hammond character randomly walk around.
