Year-Round Haunts- why they fail?

Some discussions I read on Universal’s Horror Unleashed mention that year round haunt attempts apparently have a tendency to fail, but none I found really have an explanation as to why exactly. Could anyone help clarify?

Because normies don’t think about haunted houses outside of October, and so there isn’t a sustainable audience.
