What do you mean? Every time I get off it feels way too short. The one dark ride scene is great but it's not enough. I would personally hope a DK Mine Coaster would be everything SDMT should've been. Fun coaster sections and great dark ride scenes.

DK = $$$$$ from regular guests

Captain Toad = ?????? from regular guests

It's two too-short coaster portions broken up by a too-long dark ride scene. Should be broken up better

I wouldn't be sure Captain Toad wouldn't make money. Remember cuteness factor play a lot into things when it comes down to theme parks and the general public. Cuteness sells. Minions are cute. Hello Kitty is cute. It would go down with what universal is trying to do which is counteract their thrills with cute things which they lack.

Minions and Hello Kitty are widely known by most guests though. Captain Toad though... the average guest is going to have no idea about.

If you want the cuteness factor, dedicate a M&G and a bunch of merch towards the character, but a ride would be a big WTF moment for the general public. Unless it's a B-ticket type ride, then I can see it.

I think you're right. I never played Nintendo when I was younger, I was a Sega kid but I think Donkey Kong is a much bigger name that will draw a bigger audience.

Not saying it'd be an outright failure. It would be moronic to choose it over Donkey Kong

Not disagreeing, but doesn't everyone know Toad? First introduced as a playable character in SMB2. Of course, I admit I never was much into DK, but like I said, the jungle setting would make a good family coaster.

It wouldn't be a jungle setting. It would be a mine/cave.

If the coaster has any outdoor elements; it should be having the Jungle aspect.

Couldn't they do an indoor jungle, the way ET does a pine forest? Would make much more sense I think.

As an old fart, I don't recognize the IP Captain Toad. I've never played Mario Cart or Donkey Kong Country, but I spent many a quarter on the upright classic Donkey Kong machine at my local arcade. Generational recognition is likely in play with IP choices here.

I think something like this would be cool:

Obviously much of what is done wouldn't be able to be replicated in real life, but somethings/elements would make for an awesome ride. A nice outdoor environment with a bunch of other stuff going on. Crashed planes, broken - and yet still running propellers coming at you and falling crates. If they did a DK mine cart ride would be cool if they could somehow do both jungle environment and cave.

Yes, the best possible version would be one that included both indoor and outdoor elements. The outdoors containing jungle and waterfalls, while the indoors containing caverns, caves and lava. And of course, Donkey Kong Country music playing in the back ground.

This would be pretty sweet. Originally I thought I would want dark ride scenes like SDMT all throughout but now I'm thinking something like Popeye would work really well here. Small scenes you go by both inside and out with DK and Diddy fighting whoever. But since this isn't the main ride and Mario Kart is how much would they really put into it? And could something, say, the size of BTMRR fit here with another major ride?

I'd think, more personally; smaller than BTMRR. As Skip said I believe, 7DMT wasn't bad. But the dark ride portion was far too long than it should of been, and the coaster element is..well; too short as it should of been. If we get a middle-road of it, I wouldn't be upset at all.

Speaking off, I've thought about it as a means to possibly give more space; but could it be possible that theres an Elevator lift? Its not impossible by any means, and we know that there are examples of this tech being used (Cobras, JtA SD, E.T.C) and it would give more space for coaster elements. After all, I believe the term; Vertical was mentioned about Nintendo, and that's whats popping up in my mind.

Compared to what it was before the budget axe, yeah. It could've been so much more. Orange is what we got.

The image is from @Marni1971.

Like I said before, I hope DK is longer.

If the Donkey Kong ride doesn't have some wacky alliterative name, I'll consider the whole Nintendoland an abysmal failure.

A DK mine train coaster that's the same length but better paced than 7DMT would be amazing. Having it be a coaster the entire time with the show elements simply being things you see for a few seconds as you zoom by like Bluto's would definately help with the pacing. Preferably, something like the first design for 7DMT would be great, and they could easily squeeze it into 1.5 or so acres out of this 7-8 acre land. If they do something like that, I'd almost be hyped more for it than for Mario Kart. Although, that's partially because we know so little about Mario Kart. Once we get more details I'm sure Mario Kart will blow DK out of the water, at least tech-wise.
