Not saying it'd be an outright failure. It would be moronic to choose it over Donkey Kong

This.

Captain Toad, to be honest; isn't iconic, and has only really started to show up in the late 2000s as a more prominent playable character. DK, he has seveal iconic games under his belt; and an really fesible ride that can be done much better and paying homage to all of his games, in some shape.

If the Donkey Kong ride doesn't have some wacky alliterative name, I'll consider the whole Nintendoland an abysmal failure.

The "Donkey Kong Mine Cart Coaster" is extremely basic but I think it sounds nice. I'm sure Universal/Nintendo can come up with something great though.

It's gotta be "Donkey Kong's Mine Cart Carnage/Mine Cart Madness". Those are the names for the two mine cart levels in the original Donkey Kong Country.

Drop Donkey Kong and just call it Mine Cart Carnage. The ride could be in a Donkey Kong Country sub-area of the land. Think New Fantasyland.

I think that it'd be best to atleast put his name in the title, so you don't mislead those who don't know Nintendo..as much. Atleast, in my personal opinion.

Like the statue in front of the Simpsons ride there could be one of Donkey and Diddy in a mine cart. I guess I just want the name to roll off the tongue better.

Exactly. You have to take advantage of the branding. That's how you get people to come to the park.

DK does do some clowning around..but not as much as I know where Carnage truly is for Universal nowadays.

"Donkey Kong's Mine Cart Madness" sounds good IMO. And I also agree, that DK should get its own sub-area. Something with the Mine Cart ride, the post-ride gift shop (of course!), a little Camp Jurassic-esque playground area, and a tropical food stand with bananas. They could probably condense that all into around 2-ish acres, which wouldn't take up too much room to the main focus, the Mushroom Kingdom.

Works better with Madness than Carnage when including his name. Good idea with the Camp Jurassic like area. The food stand should sell everything banana. Juice, Smoothies, Banana Split (with banana flavored ice cream), and just plain old bananas. Another idea I have for a small sub-area is Yoshi's Island. Basically a kiddie area with a carousel and egg teacup ride. There they could have tropical fruits and juices.

To me, I can't see DK being more than just the attraction, maybe a gift shop, and a food stand. The reason why I say no to the Camp Jurassic/playground idea is due to it just..wasting space that can be more used to have the attraction succeed.

If they are doing Donkey Kong drinks, they need to have specialty cups themed to look like little barrels.

There's plenty of room for both, FWIW

So yea, scaling is slightly off here, but this shows how much room there potentially is back here for a decent sized themed-coaster that still leaves plenty of room for everything else.

EDIT: Added red box around BTM that would indicate something closer to the proper scaling.

And when you consider that you guys are saying that Universal wants to start going vertical with their rides there could potentially be even less space used up by a decent coaster.

I wonder if they would have a launch on the coaster where you are blasted out of a barrel.

Would it be possible for them to expand behind the Simpsons ride?
