You could be right. But I see people at least the first time going the whole day. Mainly because their pattern is to go in the morning to see the animals more active. Also, I always thought AK was a 5 hour park, no way any longer. But I went with my friend and we started out later in the day and I felt bad because we didn't get it done in 5 hours. Her daughter wanted to do things that we just didn't do or she wanted to stay at an animal exhibit longer than I would. Now I have kids and I see my daughter slows us down too. So if you are a family who wants to do everything think of this.

Lion King 1 hour easily with waiting to get in and the show

Little Nemo 1 hour same thing

Bird show, 45 minutes

Walking trails 30 min each at a 1 hour total

Everest if you have fast pass 30 minutes

Safari if you have fast pass 45 minutes

Dinosaur 20 minutes

Dino area spinner plus coaster 45 to an hour depending on waits

Bugs life 30 minutes

Play area 30 minutes

General walking, animal exhibits around park, and bathroom breaks 30 minutes

Food 45 minutes thus included lunch and 1 snack.

Rafiki 45 minutes

I am at 9 hours and that is not including if the kids want to do the two scavenger hunts or counting any new night time stuff. Now if kids are not tall enough for the coasters then you can cut some time out. I also forgot the Rapids which not everyone will do.

Then you add avatar which is two rides and walking around, 2 night time shows, night time safari, and dance parties. Now we are talking even more hours. Oh not to mention if they want to do a meet n greet we are talking probably another 30 to 45 minutes there.

I fell off my chair laughing at the idea of even going to Rafiki's never mind spending 45mins there.

If Zootopia does well enough over it's run, I wouldn't be shocked to hear rumblings of Zootopia coming to DAK.

You'd be surprised at how many kids from this generation know about and love Nintendo. It was the late 80's early 90's and now. (sound like a radio station lol) they're in full come back mode and in my opinion a bad ass console and out of this world theme park land will sky rocket them back to the top in terms of relevancy

Any one who denies this is living in complete oblivion. This is just fact. but as my previous comment implied the ceiling is high so room to grow that IP its history that makes it less of a gamble.. for now.

I agree as long as they also stop pulling crap like Metroid Prime: Federation Force. It's the 30th anniversary of Metroid this year and that's what they give us? Once again it's completely outshined by Zelda and Mario.

There are also lots of rumors and hints that Nintendo is looking to use their characters for movies. Nintendo has the benefit of having a lot of characters that are bigger than the games themselves and can be used in a lot of different mediums. So like you say, they already have very strong IP, and still with room to grow.

In terms of consoles, I don't see Nintendo being the top dog again. I think those days are over, though they can still be successful in that space, just not #1. Despite declining console sales, I think their characters can still get stronger and grow in popularity. Very good pickup by Uni, I have no doubt Nintendo will do incredibly well for them, and hopefully, as a fan of many nintendo franchises, they do expansions to the Nintendo area

Someone actually did say they thought it was on the same tier. Which I was saying no way is Nintendo and Star wars on the same level. Nintendo is popular, but not Star Wars popular.

They have the ending to the Lion Guard hunt at Rafiki. It takes awhile to get on the train, get up there, get into building and then back out, and back on the train. That whole round about trip and only doing one thing (waiting in line for the lion guard thing) is a 45 minute trip. I normally skip that whole thing, but now I was forced to do it and I imagine others will be too because Lion Guard is really popular. Plus while up there they may look at the few things that are there.

Star Wars and Nintendo are both very different things. Both will have their own following. I'm just happy, I will get to experience both soon enough.

I'd say that Star Wars fans are more passionate, but Nintendo had broader appeal.

You can easily find people who aren't Star Wars fans - but it's harder to find people who have a negative opinion of Nintendo.

If you're considering rational, non-fanboys, he's correct. Nintendo is a well respected company.

And while Nintendo is not as big as Star Wars is currently, Mario was THE most recognizable character in the world for a time, and I'd wager is still in the top 5.

I'd say Mario is a small notch below Mickey Mouse and a small notch above Kermit the Frog. He's simply a huge household name.

I agree with that when taking out all the uber fanboys of Sony and Microsoft. Can't tell you how many times I've been attacked online or have seen other people attacked for preferring Nintendo. It's very childish.

Negative opinion maybe not, but what about people who have never played a game on Nintendo or don't care about video games. Because I know a ton of baby boomer and older generation people who could care less about video games. Those same people were going to the movie theaters to see the original Star Wars movies and have continued to see them. This same thing can be said to the 6 and under crowd. My daughter or her friends don't play video games yet, so they really have no clue what Nintendo is or care about Mario. Most kids don't start playing video games until they can read. But the 4 to 6 year crowd is really into Star Wars. I didn't realize it, but talking with parents most of the kids in that age range have seen the original three movies and know the characters.

So I disagree, I think Star Wars has a broader appeal to more people since it crosses more generations. Also, being someone who was not a star wars fan and never saw the movies, I never met anyone like me. Everyone called me crazy for never seeing the movies. They also asked how in the world I could have never seen at least the original 3 movies. I have had people look at me like I had three heads when they found this out about me.

Hmm, I wonder how much traffic will venture over to Osaka during the Olympics though...unless they're having separate events there, it's not close or cheap to get there.
