Ah. All I remember was his post about the 9th. I already have plans to go that day. 13th? Tuesday? Really? That's not cool.

Yep, I've been in all the gift shops lol. Same comparison could go for the shops in Marvel Super Hero Island where there are huge dioramas that go for $300 or more. Example: Original Iron Man Mask in glass display case. You guys are right...there's going to be a wide range of prices.

Yes. There will be a wide range of prices depending on whether you want the standard t-shirt or souvenir, or if you want actual memorabilia.

You are all free to believe what you will, but I wish people would stop taking what SAS says as fact, and even if you do chose to believe it, keep in mind that there's also a considerable chance that plans can change at any time. I'm sure when the time for softs approaches some employee with a disregard for the rules (there's always someone) will leak the date and then we'll find out. 'Till then I wish we would stop discussing softs... It's really pointless. I know people want to plan trips and all, but there is no confirmation, so right now hoping for April 9th, or any date, is just giving ourselves false hopes and having expectations without any evidence that it's even a possibility.

Onto merchandise... Theme parks are pricey all around, so don't expect real bargains, especially since it's only just opening. But, on the topic of really pricey stuff, I've seen some pricey collectibles at the SpiderMan shop. They were like $300 or somewhere around that price range. So, we know they do have things up in that level, and I wouldn't expect any less in the new land. Expect to spend a pretty penny!

There's a chance. No one knows any specific period of time that TWWoHP will soft open. There are rumors of April 9th/13th but nothing is confirmed or will be confirmed. They will not announce the softs, they will just happen. Look for an employee preview first.

Welcome to the site!

I'm not taking it as fact, just as speculation. I'm also a local, so I can go whenever I want. If I go on April 9 and it's not open, I can go home and be perfectly fine. Plans always change. Rockit is living proof.

I wasn't referring to you specifically ;-) I meant everyone, in general...

I got really excited for a second, thinking you had somehow gotten to tour Hogsmeade. Then I realized you were referring to theme park gift shops in general. Booo... :[

Thanks Mookie, nice catch.
After watching the "ice" at Nassals inner city location myself last summer, i was already worried that they wouldn't add the ice to the real thing. But they did!

Speaking of Nassal, they still have the original Potter facade seen there from I-4. Do you suppose this was simply a mockup that will never be used at WWOHP?

I think it was Disneyhead who found out that it was just a sample to show Uni their work and would not be used. It's the Spintwitches storefront that we know is already replicated on location, so yep, it will not be used. Most likely Nassal will keep it and proudly display it to impress future customers.

I think it's been verified or just generally agreed by most on this thread that the Hogsmeade facade at Nassal WAS only a mock up for WB to approve.

Edit: Felipe beat me to it :censored: jk

It's official, Ellen went in the WWoHP. JumboshrmpX on Twitter (also a member here) posted this 30 minutes ago:
I guess that means she will film something in there. Can't wait!

Be sure to watch ELLEN on 4/2. YES she did go into WWOHP with two young children, and has footage from it. IF she did ride FJ, you will not see it on her show. Anyone who was at her CW taping knows what you will see.

From Orlando Sentinel

More Wizarding World morsels

Other details from the tour of Wizarding World of Harry Potter include:

•There won't be any walk-around Potter characters.

•Guests entering from the Lost Continent side of Islands of Adventure will see the Hogwarts Express train on the right. It's a 100 percent replica of what is seen in the films, Coup said. After that is Hogwarts Station, which conceals lockers for the Dragon Challenge (formerly Dueling Dragons), which has a new flag-flanked entrance there.

•On the left will be several previously announced establishments: Zonko's, Honeydukes, Three Broomsticks restaurant and the adjacent Hog's Head Tavern. In between are fake fronts of other Potter elements, but you cannot go inside such spots as McHavelocks, Dogweek and Deathcap(with good and evil windows), Gladrags Wizardry, Scrivenshafts (inks and quills), Wiseacres (equipment such as crystal balls) and Potages, a caldron store. You can merely look in the windows and admire the theming.

•Back on the right are the Owlery (with robotic owls) and Owl Post, plus Dervish and Banges.

•In the middle of the pathway is a butterbeer cart, which also will sell a frozen version of the drink.

•Ollivanders is just beyond the Owlery, even though in the books, it's in Diagon Alley. "It was such an important part of the fiction, how the wand chooses the wizard, we want it to be part of this," said Mark Woodbury, president of Universal Creative. With Rowling's blessing, a Hogsmeade branch was opened for Wizarding World.

ok, so has anyone else seen the new updates about special effects in Hogsmead that was posted on Mugglenet.com today? The link sends you to Newsday.com which you have to have a membership to the site which is $5 a week in order to view the rest of the artical and possible pictures...? SO since the average Jo can't just look at these items, I was wondering if someone here may have a membership and therefore could post this info here.... PLEASE

Looks like they're working in the Dragons area pretty heavily now. Some new theming has gone up on the bridge of the original entrance and they've reopened part of the Dragons queue. I rode Dragons yesterday and Ice was down (the effect just isn't the same). They've routed the line through an emergency exit into the queue. The wall seemed so bland..

I was greeted by an employee and he said "Welcome to Harry Potter", and quickly corrected himself.
Other updates from the rest of IOA, studios, and Ellen, too.

TheLastAshen, if you click on "read more" on the MuggleNet article it lead to where they had the full story available. I'll repost what was said.

A few more details have emerged online today about the Wizarding World theme park, courtesy of Newsday. The article provides some new insight into the Dragon Challenge ride:

"Riders will see in the distance the Weasleys' car that was spat from the Whomping Willow on the edge of the Forbidden Forest, and the Champions' tent where Hermione sneaked in to see Harry. You'll pass the Goblet of Fire, with its blue flame, and head down a corridor that holds the Triwizard Cup trophy that says, 'Eternal Glory Is Theirs,' and several of the golden eggs in a trophy cabinet. Dragons will fly above in shadow, fighting and bucking."

You'll also get entertained by champions from Beauxbatons and Durmstrang and have the opportunity to choose to ride the Chinese Fireball or the Hungarian Horntail.

To read all about Zonko's, Honeydukes, The Owlery, The Three Broomsticks and The Hogshead, click "read more" below.

Additionally, storefronts will make Potter fans feel right at home. Zonko's will have a student vomiting into a cauldron from a Puking Pastille, Honeydukes has a chocolate frog jumping out of its box and leaping around the storefront window, and the Owlery will feature a Howler.

In The Three Broomsticks:

"Pots and pans float magically through a galley where dishes are washing and stacking themselves in a cupboard. Diners will hear butter beer mugs clinking. 'It's clear the inn above is alive with patrons and servants and maids,' Daurio says; guests will see and hear them and house elves moving in shadow through the loftlike upper hallways. Owls will fly to the windows to deliver post.

The Three Broomsticks will serve British fare such as fish and chips, shepherd's pie and Cornish pasties, which are little half-moon meat pies. If you have four or more in your party, you can order the 'The Great Feast,' a communal meal meant to mirror the feasts at Hogwarts served on a big tray. To drink? Pumpkin juice."

The Hogshead will have a much different feel from the The Three Broomsticks and serve an alcoholic beverage called Hogshead Brew, a Scottish amber ale.
