I would've thought that with the new towers and the resort already in need of more parking they would've gone a lot higher than 2 stories for a parking garage. I was thinking more like 3-4.

So a new Easement was filed with the Orange County Comptroller today that pretty much confirms exactly what Teebin posted last year about the location of these two towers, as well as showing off the placement of the new parking garage. One thing that's rather interesting is that the perimeter road around Cabana Bay will be re-worked to go under both of these new towers.

Here's a direct link to the Easement, the map is on page 17:

Alternatively, here's a colored version and an aerial overlay to help visualize the changes:

I wonder why they just didn't build that garage in the first place.

Wow, that parking garage is a new deal. How many levels? Too, oval towers with the road underneath is brilliant.

That also gleans some hints towards Volcano Bay, such as what is obviously a bus loop in the bottom right corner.

If this is at a level of Height where its tall enough; I could see this being VBs parking lot as well.

While that would be nice, these plans don't seem to indicate that that will be the case. There would have to be a separate entrance into the garage beyond just the existing small simple gate that is there now, especially if they'll be charging for parking like is rumored.

Wow, that poor east tower... one side of it overlooks the parking garages. How yucky is that! South side or bust for the east tower!

I assume this happened to that tower because of the very large building going into VB where that tower would logically be located. You can see the outlines of that building on the above plans. I have known there were plans for a large building in this location but I just didn't think it through. Now what is it? A restaurant and shops or a massive bathroom/changing room? I don't know the details of water park amenities.

Wonder if the towers will have there own lobby for check in, BLT opened without but soon added one as it was quite a distance from Contemporary's check in which it used before, I see similarities here.

I looks like there are 3 garage access points from the parking garage. One side could be hotel guest entrance, the other side VB guest entrance and one being the exit for all traffic.

Sorry, but this obviously isn't designed to service the water park. There's no indication that they're adding toll booths, which I'm guessing would have to be about the same size as the toll plaza at Aquatica. There's no way they would want to mix hotel guest parking with park guest parking. The roadways aren't large enough to handle the volume of traffic that would come with a park, nor are they aligned for the efficient movement of such a volume. There's no indication of a walkway large enough to handle a high volume of pedestrian traffic from the garage to the park, or ANY walkway for that matter, besides from the garage to the tower.

Existing parking garage will be getting an additional level added on.

They need more parking, especially around the Courtyard buildings. Things get really tight in there at night sometimes. I always find a space but that's with others kind of "making up" their own spaces on the sides. Last time, I basically parked in KONG for my room in Starlight.

Yeah, the night I checked in Cabana last year, I drove around what seemed like forever and finally got the only empty parking space I saw.

We loved Cabana Bay. It was way beyond our expectations. The main pool is especially beautiful at night. The Lazy River doesn't get crowded since you have to buy your own tubes, which is good, since it keeps it quiet & relaxing. Fire pits at the pools. The food court is good. Excellent pool bars with food. Starbucks on site. The suites are real good for the price. Not real big but nice that if one wants to take a nap, the other can watch tv in the living room. The only downside is that they don't have a good full service restaurant. But Sapphire Falls (when it opens) & Royal Pacific sit down restaurants are only a five minute walk away. If you don't want to walk to the parks the buses are quick transportation. We never waited more than 5 minutes for a bus. We usually stay at Portofino, but in he future we'll always combine 3 to 5 daysCabana with 7 or 8 at Portofino. That saves a few bucks plus we really like the 50s-60s ambiance of the hotel with all of its bright neon and retro furniture. It's the price of a Disney Value but the amenities & feel of the Disney Moderates.

Thanks. I know Orlando resorts hands down from living here. We have not had the opportunity to actually stay as a guest at any of the Universal resorts
That changes with our stay-cation this upcoming year. I appreciate the insight Mad Dog

You're very welcome. Staying onsite at Universal really makes a difference. The relaxation & leisure of having everything so close is something you have to experience to appreciate. It's especially good for club hopping at CitiWalk and coming back to the hotel for a pool break during a hot muggy afternoon. This past October we stayed at Disney for a WDW vacation and made two day trips to Universal Those two day trips were fun but nowhere as good as staying on site at Universal.

Could not have said it better myself. Absolutely love this hotel. And while it's missing the full service restaurant, the other deluxe hotels are seriously lacking a food court. I love the food court at this hotel. But I did trek over to RPR for lunch at Emeril's Tchoup Chop (THE BEST) and basically parked in Sapphire Falls construction. It's insane how bunched together everything in this resort is.

But yeah I'm coming up on like my 7th or 8th stay since it opened next month. I just can't get enough and I highly recommend a stay there.

I really like Tchoup Tchoup. The best kept secret is their Happy Hour at the adjacent bar with fantastic tasty high class appetizers $5 each. Get 5 or 6 appetizers and it's an exciting meal for two.
