12??? If true, that seems like quite a lot considering cheetahs need lots of space and are endangered and all...

So, is this some ride where we go through a glass tunnel where there's cheetahs everywhere? Or do we go into their area?

12 seems a bit too many, but who knows.

We have a photo update for today over at BGTGuide. Not a whole lot going on, but they did start the footers in the station. Check it out here: http://www.bgtguide.com/bgt/project2011/photosaugust3

12 Cheetahs Strange number, There is not a lot of construction going on at all for the Coaster, I was there this weekend and not a lot new to see. The footers are poured and after HOS we should see Coaster going Up.

I very highly doubt it's legal to have a roller coaster go through an animal habitat. Montu gets pretty close to some animals during its batwing but there's still a heavy duty fence in place to keep the antelopes and such safe. So far only the people who've seen the plans know exactly how we'll be "interacting" with the animals.

Well, several years back they did have alligators at Montu in between the loading station and the lift hill. I don't see why not if it isn't to fast in the animal areas and there is no way for the animals to be harmed.

Yeah but you were above the gators. And they were babies. Didn't they move them when they got too big? Anyway, I guess it could happen if they did it right. We'll just have to wait and see.

Lol, I knew we wouldn't be directly in their area, maybe above? This is driving me nuts.

They moved them due to concern for the health and safety of the animals. People were dropping items that were potential threats to the animals health. Never ceases to amaze me how the general public (Brazil I am looking in your direction) ruin in for the rest of us.

Media event time!

Today some websites and Facebook contest winners got invited out by the park to check out Walkabout Way, the Garden Gate Cafe pizza / pasta buffet and Kinetix. While there we also took some construction photos on the 2011 project and Howl - O - Scream work.

Enjoy!

It was just a media/Facebook meet-up from what I've read. If anything, I believe it was for SeaWorld After Dark.

this is slightly off topic, but...

... look familiar?

Ok. So. Uhhh. Yeah. Is there still no official word of the coaster type yet? We know it's a launch, but I'd loooove it to be the same as Maverick. SO much. You don't know. I can't even...
