^ Thanks! :rep:
From that picture I am almost positive it's an Intamin, look at this picture of Maverick,
p16701.jpg

They are the same, and I think only Intamin does this style of footers (correct me if I'm wrong).

Also, about the name Cheetaka, has anyone seen the Travel Channel show that talked about thrill rides? At one point in it, they were talking about Kinda Ka and said Kinda Ka means King of Coasters in another language (the specific language was not mentioned). So Ka must mean Coaster in the language, so Cheetaka might actually have something behind it, Cheetah Coaster...

I foresee many Tampa expeditions for me in the near future. I will be following this construction project very closely, thanks to those so far covering this.

Ok my first of hopefully many updates on Project 2011 at BGT. These photos were taken earlier today, and as usual I will let the pictures do the talking. Also for those interested later today I will have some really odd and cool general photos from around the park up on a different thread. Please check them out and enjoy!

Part 1 of 2.

I still have to wait a fair 5 months to check out the progression in real life.

To be honest, timing looks indentical to Manta.
  • Demo and groundwork in May/June
  • Footers and more groundwork in July/August
  • Leaking pics of track in august
  • Track on site late August/early September
  • Start of assembling track September
  • Full track done before the Holidays
  • All the time in the world to theme the area early 2011
  • They only might need some more time for landscaping this time, to reproducre savanna, although they ofcourse use a lot of donor trees

Can you tell that I am excited?

Johnny upsidedown also took the time to give as an nice construction update

few as 30 and as many as 60 projects are planned!!!!

Busch gardens is Hiring a director, design & engineering.

Responsibilities:
-Capital projects from $10,000 to $2,000,000 with as few as thirty, and as many as sixty to be implemented. Plans, specifications, bids, contracting, schedule, code compliance, budget and construction coordination are all part of the job.

The drafting personnel will report directly to this person and this individual will have the responsibility for millions of dollars worth of design plans and specifications.

Great pictures! So,can anyone basically summarize what we can expect to see in this new area, or all new features throughout the park? Also, how can you get from the entrance of the park to Egypt now with that entire area being taken up for construction?

Coming from the entrance, they made a pathway that runs behind the old clydesdale hamlet. There are signs on the construction wall pointing to the right for Egypt once you pass the Moroccan Theater.

If you are coming from the back of the park (from Kumba/Timbuktu) to Egypt/Montu, the new EOA path provides a shortcut.

Well, if it is a Maverick-esq ride.....probably looking at trains that are 3-4 cars long with each car holding 4 guests. So 12-16 guests per train. As far as how many, Maverick runs 6 trains so I'd say its a safe bet that this one will run quite a few as well. Maverick features a loading station similiar to that of Sheikra in that they load 2 trains at a time. It actually gets decent capacity, as long as it stays in operation :-) For what its worth, Maverick was my number one steel coaster (out of 460 ridden) until this season when Intimidator 305 opened up. It really is just an outstanding ride with a good mix of everything I like!

I think some of the stpports for Cheetaka are stored at N40th and E bougainvillea Ave behind the baseball field, and to the right of the shaded green houses.
