Is it a dance club or is it a steak house???

An Ultra-"hip" Steak House. Very L.A./Miami/Las Vegas kinda place.

It has dance club elements. Certain parts of the restaurant are more club than restaurant.

Always stuck out in Double-Stroller Central like a sore thumb.

That said, Splitsville's attempts at nightlife went nowhere, and HoB succeeded mostly by picking an off night and being, shall we say, "lax" on checking CP IDs. This does not bode well for The Edison.

I thought it was funny when I walked by the Edison construction walls yesterday and noticed the kind of steam punk vibe they're going for and thought "a day late and millions over budget" :D

I'm sure it will all be nice once they figure it all out. It's just taking forever for some of this stuff and I don't think the sales inside the stores other than World of Disney, Coke and Uniqulo are exactly setting the world on fire. Too bad those Brazilians with all the disposable cash stopped coming and don't have the cash anymore when they do.

House of Blues was fun. REALLLLY FUN. It's probably one of the main reason I attribute to why I got kicked out of the DCP....

Never noticed lax ID Checking though, they checked me and my group like a hawk every time. Of course it was still incredibly easy for underage to get their hands on a drink as all one had to do was buy it and then hand it to the person. Now all of this was mostly towards the end of their time doing club nights (Sun & Weds), so maybe Disney was already breathing down their neck about the situation and they had already cracked down. I know it went 21+ in about May or so last year before the trashy fun ended in October.

I got so trashed there back in 99. It was a private party and the host of the party kept bringing me drinks... :stun:

Some big radio station in Chicago...

The STK overhaul and Guy Fiere at Planet Hollywood makes a lot of sense to me.

Disney went really high end with Disney Springs. All of the sit down restaurants seem like expensive, event-restaurants. They appeal to wealthy cosmopolitan hipsters. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

On the flip side, Universal doesn't seem to be going to that extreme at CityWalk. Toothsome is a themed Cheesecake Factory - a restaurant that more appeals to Middle America (again, not saying anything bad about the heartland). Disney needs to have Disney Springs appeal to everyone.

Just ate at STK on Sunday. Food was great but man was it loud in there and I was on the second floor.

Disney Springs is basically World Showcase without the admission price. There's something for everyone and it has pretty much any kind of food one could possibly ask for.

Oh, and those "Middle America" appealing restaurants are Rainforest and T-Rex at DS. A table never goes empty at those places. You could also add Splitsville, Raglan Road and Homecoming to that list.

The expansion was about adding high end dining... before it was mostly just mediocre, middle of the road bars and restaurants. The new, higher end restaurants give the area a sense of class.

Hey, they have lots of AAs and no screenz. It's like getting a meal in the middle of a dark ride.

 We almost left because my friend was like.. "I really wanted to talk with my friends tonight" but the music was BLARING and that was just not possible. But the food was so good, I was rapping along to Biggie while eating my steak and mac'n'cheese.

I am gonna try STK during Orlando Magical Dining, but I would be very surprised if the quality surpassed Del Friscos Double Eagle Steak House on I-Drive. Del Frisco's is, as far as I know, the highest quality chain restaurant on the planet. I have eaten at 2 Del Frisco's, (Rockefeller Center and I Drive) and both were exemplary

Hmmm.... I was planning on doing Capital Grill next weekend with Magical Dining, should I go with Del Frisco's instead? We did the Brazilian steakhouse this past weekend and it was awesome. Except the dessert, but I highly doubt many people ever order dessert there so they bring in frozen stuff instead of fresh stuff. Which makes sense for a place like that.

I would do Del Frisco's. It's right across I Drive from Pointe Orlando.

Heading down to Orlando (and probably Disney Springs) in like a month. What are the must-dos in Disney Springs?

Jocks, Morimoto Asia, Blaze Pizza for food. UNIQLO is a fun stop for affordable clothing in Town Center.

Cirque, Coke, Morimoto Asia, if you have kids T-Rex or Rainforest and Lego Store, World of Disney, Marketplace Co-op, Jocks, The Boathouse, the actual fake springs, and the Trophy Room

You can look at the restaurants and not eat at them and still enjoy the atmosphere and theming. I don't really like shopping, so I haven't seen much of the stores.

Planet Hollywood have announced on social media that when they re-open as the observatory, they'll be doing so with new 'Superstar Shakes'
