Photos of Brain Wash demolition on Twitter today. I just can't see how any of this is going to be sold - seems brutal

They are sawing through the middle of the slide pieces to get it done quickest...no way will these slides be sold to anyone. They've destroyed them in demo. It's much more likely we'll see things pop up in Williams of Hollywood than anything.

I wonder if the late start on the demolition was due to not being able to find a buyer.

I know we've heard they got a late start on demo, but the actual demo plans weren't ready and delivered until like the week before they started... so maybe it was just slow approval related stuff. Or a change in plans or something. Either way, didn't seem delayed from that perspective. They got right to work as soon as they had something to work from, as far as I know.

ya I would agree with @AliciaStella, there's plenty of places they could store the slides if they really wanted to sell them. Also, if they really wanted to sell them, they could accept pretty much anything above what it costs to dismantle them.

Why would I rather want to see SNW get "properly" announced on Pandora's media event, just to see the salt burn into them.

Amazing how small that space seems since most everything is down now.

It was definitely a small park and not up to current Universal standards.

As far as the hotel goes though, they own some of the water space, which can be filled in, making the area larger. Not sure if that's in the plans or not.

I like the idea of the water space, not so much the view on the opposite end.

Building a rather large berm on the other end to block the road would go a long way to making the resort feel fairly secluded from I-Drive and the highway.

The orange guy likes walls. I say build a wall it takes less space than a berm and properly themed and planted they can be quite attractive

Just seeing the photos, I mean the lake makes sence to keep as scenery/place for a boardwalk, something...but then seeing that parking lot, it seems like they have more land on that parking lot side of the road than they do on the WnW side.

I can't imagine what that corner will look like in a few years.

If Universal wants 4000 hotel rooms between the two parts of the property, the lake will have to be filled in, especially if there are parking structures planned for along I-Drive. I presume the height limit will be 200 feet, and they may want to build less so Krakatau is not completely drowned out by the new development.

The only thing that limits them to 200 ft (20 stories) is the requirement to put a red beacon on top. DIS has perpetuated that for years, If you want to build higher you just put a light on it.. Look at the polar coaster, they can do 50 stories with no issues as long as they can get a solid foundation under it.
