Lets say you are right, everybody and his mother hates the ride. They don't buy the souvenirs, they don't ride the ride, they take the time to complain to customer service telling them they hate it with a passion and demand more because they are worth it, they go to TripAdvisor and tell everyone else they should hate it too. In a month the ride is almost empty. But it operates with the reservation system so the few that like it get a return time and the ride will operate with a tenth of it's capacity (more or less).
In the end each ride has a purpose; customer satisfaction, sails of souvenirs, reason to visit a park (and probably a few more). In the end if an attraction under perform they'll take it out. It's what happened with Twister, Disaster and Dragon Challenge.
