I wouldn't be surprised if fans wanted it to stay just to point out that UOE used trackless technology first before Kong.

I don't think anyone would care if GOTG replaced anything in Epcot at this point. Like Maelstrom probably hurt the most than losing anything in the park, save for maybe Spaceship Earth. And even still, I remember most of the message board community being okay with Time Racers.

Not REALLY. Trackless means there's a software track, ToT, GMR, and UoE still follow a guide wire.

I am SO not ok with this. NEVER in Florida, please.

If it HAD to go to DCA, then a TDS version overlay where The Collector = Hightower and they bring over the legend of the Shiriki Utundu is the only way. (Basically clone over TDS version)

Funny also, how there is no talk of it happening in Paris.

BREAKING BREAKING BREAKING!!! THE TOWER HAS BEEN SAVED
from the spirited man across the web....

EPCOT's Future World seems to have been settled on as the future home of the Guardians of the Galaxy because you know ... either they belong ... or, like Frozen, they are hot IP that Bob Iger bought and they will get shoved up anywhere.

I've heard two FW locations (one that basically is not being utilized currently, the other a pavilion that is limping along and only open because Disney can't close anything else).

I'm thinking Universe of Energy or Body Wars building.

Sigh.... again, can't use the IP, so while it would be great if SOMETHING happened in Epcot, I doubt it is this.

Replacing an empty building?

237219.gif

Going into the park it makes the least sense in (excluding Animal Kingdom)?

1.) Unless Disney and Universal have reached some sort of agreement on GotG being in the parks, it won't happen. Legal!

2.) Mission:Space

Speaking of Mission: Space, is it true that HP is no longer sponsoring it? If so, could be prime for replacement...

I dunno. Nothing's "replacing" it, just a new sign and some interior work, probably won't even fully remove the gravity wheel. I'd look for only three of the four bays working IMHO.

It's also equally as possible that Disney is going ahead and Universal will sue.

This is possible too. But I can't imagine they would waste time planning an attraction for Epcot knowing they would be sued. I guess we will see.

Disney has leverage. They could in return allow Uni to use the MCU characters.

Exactly and Guardians is not a franchise I am sure Uni has plans for going forward...

I have been saying FOREVER that Disney is too cheap to spend so much time on ride development on a ride they know they can't use. It makes no sense!!

So either the contract is not being interpreted as we think or there are talks and enough plans to go ahead with the Green light!

Previous Rumors report this will be a coaster and I'd say it will 75% be replacing Energy. That show building is massive!

Uggh. no guardians in Epcot please. No more cash grab tie ins either. How bout replace WoL and remodel Imagination into brand new e-ticket attractions. At this point, Epcot needs a NEW thrill ride and/or something with reride-ability. Like a new shooter ride perhaps, in WoL footprint. Call it Body Wars still, and make it a mib type ride where you are tasked by a futuristic medical Corporation to take care of patients, and therefore shrunk to the size of a cell, and wander about the cytoplasm and body blasting viruses, bugs, and monstrous cancer cells. Btw maybe a homage to disneyland's adventure through inner space attraction where your cart stops in front of the micro-thingy device as riders get shrunk. Also added the worlds first power-ups in an interactive dark ride that are capable of taking out as many as 10 enemy microorganisms. Easy to use at the push of a button. Call them, Vitamans, or DNA-Sb's (smart bombs). :)
