I don't care if it's an IP, just something new.

I wonder... would JK allow the use of the London waterfront for HHN? That would be an awesome scare zone, without much of a set needed. I'm just thinking of a "Terror of London" sort of thing... Jack the Ripper, Sweeney Todd, Jeckyll and Hyde. Fill that area with mist and the sounds of Big Ben in the distance and you have an instant scare zone, no set really needed. Just a thought...

I remember someone saying last year that the reason they had the chainsaw guys around that area was to "test the waters" when it comes to having a scarezone there. I don't remember if it was on Facebook or where but i remember something like that.

I don't think you'll ever see a scarezone in the London area. there's a reason it's so easily blocked off from the rest of the park.

On top of that, with the Knight Bus prominently displayed, Rowling has probably already made that a no go.

I agree... the Knight Bus kills any possibility. And before anyone suggests it can be easily moved backstage... it cannot. Neither can Sirius Black's home...

Well, that stinks about no scare zone in London, but that make sense. I didn't think about the Knight Bus. Since its there, I agree that JK would probably not want that event around her area.

You joke now, but i'll be interested to see if any sort of lines build at Guest Services over the course of HHN due to Diagon not being open. I highly doubt it will be publicized all that well that it won't be open and the general public will likely be expecting it to be open.

For those of you upset about TWD return, take heart that there is at least one original house left (or it was last I looked). It revolves around an esoteric word/name that is a part of early American history. That said, I have absolutely no idea what they are doing with it as it has been bastardized a few times since in more recent fiction.

Will this be the Urban Legends house?

Might be, but I have no idea. I only know that it is an original concept based on American history.

Rumor is there are at least 3, possibly 4, original houses.

well would the london location make for a good scare zone in the first place? seems like you'd have to go out of your way to see it, otherwise you could walk right by it

Could The Conjuring possibly be one of our shared IPs with Hollywood? It could tie in to Jimmy's clues about dolls and Aiello said in one of the Walking Dead articles that he'd be bringing other properties from the last year or two.

Yeeesh... you are soooooooo close you spook me! More esoteric but hey... you are in Wrigley Field!

Wrigley Field implies ghosts to me and you being close. To me this means the boat aspect of The Forsaken was probably correct and that would match up with the esoteric bit because how many people know the names of haunted boats from early American history these days? That being said, it could be based on the USS Constellation or USS Constitution, two of the oldest surviving boats that are supposed to be haunted.
Am I close?

I doubt it. I think Hollywood is going to start distancing itself from Blumhouse related IPs considering that they're starting to do a haunt in LA annually.

Wrigley Field makes me think Chicago, which was home to America's first serial killer HH Holmes during the 1893 World's Fair.

Wrigley Field was just another way of me saying that the person guessing was "in the ballpark". That said, the esoteric word/name has already been figured out; look for when I said "is indeed esoteric!". That was my way of saying, ding ding ding!

I really wonder how many people will complain. I still remember when Rip Ride opening was a big deal lol, Transformers opened for HHN, I also wonder if they might be able to open Diagon on really busy nights or something. (maybe next year?)

It's not gonna happen, because it's not their call. If it was up to Universal, it would be open. JKR has said no, and there's little Uni will be able to do to change that

Gotcha.
Okay, so Croatoa is our word, what is our horror?
That word has popped up over the years in relation to many disappearances (Ambrose Bierce and Amelia Earhart spring to mind) but I am not sure what this indicates other than some sort of spookiness about the word. Bierce did write the famous horror story An Occurence at Owl Creek Bridge, but that story seems awful similar to last year's Afterlife for it to be that.
