You know Legacy (et. al) doesn't work for us, right? They're not responsible for rumor control.

Yes, WWE is still a thing. Also to be fair we haven't had many HHN rumors for awhile. Just a dry part of spec season rn.

Personally spitballing (and my apologies for quoting but I do want to discuss fairly and directly), I have a hard time to grasp that the WWE makes sense in the current light.

The WWE has had snippets and bits where Horror can be prevalent; I won’t deny that—but I have a hard time grasping how the modern WWE would work in HHN in a way that’d suit a house.

If we were talking scarezone and TT opportunities, ala Enter The Blumhouse, I could see it; but I think the image of modern WWE is a bit more clean than I’d envision it for the event to my liking (I can be off base and off kilter with it, I am not a intimate WWE fan after all).
____

Personally spitballing but I wonder why in light of rumors and speculation for the past few months, why M3GAN has been silent. One would “assume” and guess that logic would dictate that she would finally get her time to shine—but I have to wonder at a certain point if there might be an awareness to have M3GAN elsewhere (and in more public spaces).

It’s not like there isn’t probably causality for her to appear this year, with 2.0 in June. So it’s kind of weird to see it be mum for now.

Yeah I know, my point was that it’s kind of dumb to write off a new rumor that could easily be deconfirmed, especially if we’re going to cling to rumors that spawned from October - December and have since gone dark. Not that Legacy or any of them had to do it on our schedules or anything haha.

Your mileage may vary, of course, but I'm happy to write off rumors that come from sources that haven't proven to be reliable.

As I said I don’t deny that horror is into play with the WWE, but I personally think a house feels like a bad call.

I think if there is any potential meat to the WWE as a real rumor, I don’t think it’s for a house. I think there could be a fair and valid opportunity that like how Enter The Blumhouse was seemingly locked in early for Hollywood, that WWE could be locked in early on both coasts for a Scarezone/TT package.

If it has valid tracking, I think the WWE would have more benefits if it was in a open environment that can allow preformers to express and act more like the roles given to them.

How come? This doesn't seem like any more of a stretch than The Weeknd or (to a lesser extent) Black Sabbath. I'm no WWE-head, but I imagine they could come up with an interesting treatment on this.

if it was an original concept of demonic wrestlers or serial killer wrestlers then no one would be questioning it lol

the house couldn't just be a wrestling ring so they would have to go into the backstory of the characters and stuff.

i think it’s weirder to me than that of Weeknd (which has had blatant elements of horror through MVs) and the once considered “Impossible” A Quiet Place, because at the end of the day it’s still a matter of the personalities and their characteristics.

I would love if they proved me wrong, and I will say that sincerely; but I think a house would be more limiting to I think…the spirit, of what WWE is.

WWE, from a pure outsiders glance (I know next to little outside of small snippets referenced by others), is an “active” IP that relies on its sport to convey a sense of Spectacle with a story that doesn’t seem horror. It frankly seems more like an IP that’d be benefitted if it was for Universal Fan Fest Nights to be frank.

It feels like an IP that I think would be more comfortable in a open environment, so you can then let those personalities and characters being represented to shine, than an intimate one.

Once again I am probably the odd man out on this, I have had a reputation in that before; but something tells me the WWE doesn’t pass the smell test to me in a way that other IPs work for HHN.

I’m not one to debunk a rumor unless I am extremely confident it’s an incorrect rumor. Sometimes that refutation is based mostly in speculation (like when I was adamant that Demon Slayer wasn’t happening). That can sometimes bite me in the butt, when I swore Triplets last year was in Sinema and not its own house. Sometimes it’s because I am TOLD something is not happening.

Largely, this year has been more muted (for me) than normal. Most of what I’m getting is largely centered on a couple of sources that aren’t as disparate as I’d like (I prefer multiple rumor avenues that don’t interact so verification is easier—that doesn’t seem to be happening this year). Centralized sources mean misinterpretations of information are more likely. It also encourages an echo chamber.

If the rumor is “Blumhouse IP featuring robots,” is the rumor for FNAF or M3GAN? I’ve heard both.

Regarding originals, I’ve heard medieval, pirates, and vikings… which could all be the same thing or three completely different things.

This is why, sometimes, I wait on clues. It’s also why, sometimes, I don’t debunk them. I don’t have enough information to know for sure. And if I never get the information before the official announcement (or before someone “scoops” me), so be it. It’s mo real skin off my nose.

If my sources are dried up, I’m fine with that. It happens. I wasn’t the first HHN rumor monger. I won’t be the last.

It's worth considering that WWE did have a house once in Hollywood, even if it was a long time ago now. That suggests that at least at one point in time, both of these parties were willing to collaborate, and that a WWE house can work on a conceptual level.

I don't think a lineup of Fallout/Terrifier/FNAF would be bigger than the 2023 lineup - but it's darn close.

I don't really buy FNAF - but it could be telling that the Fallout rumor has been floating around for awhile now and hasn't gone away.

I think the draw/popularity of WWE depends who they emphasize. Wyatt Six haven't had a lot of focus lately but their one of their newest big faces they're focusing on a good bit is a skeleton luchador (all hail Penta!) and they can definitely use Rhea Ripley and The Judgement Day for any HHN plans since both use a lot of gothic elements and would lean into it?

FNAF is interesting because I've mentally written it off for awhile. Curious if it happens.

I still think it should be Wyatt Sicks tbh. Their lore is WAYYYYYYYY too good to not have a house. It's so cool

I'm of the opinion that if WWE happens it'll be largely focused on the Wyatt Sicks but I don't see WWE not having some of the faces that'll fit they're pushing play a role in the house.

But if it's debunked, the hype for it was nice while it lasted . I wonder if a possible WrestleMania or SummerSlam announcement for it is possible if it's happening?

and speaking of icons, and we all wondering what new icon to bring to the park, we all discuss what type of icon.
but there's already 3 or 4 past characters that need to be icons, that's basically 3 to 4 years of icons worth.

Eddie, yes Eddie, we officially need Eddie now. if we get stuff like fallout and terrifier and wwe this year, Eddie would be the perfect icon to usher these properties since Eddie could be a fan of these properties. specially terrifier and wwe.
Eddie could be putting his favorite properties in display for hhn .

but also what about H.R. Bloodengutz? he would fit with the theme this year as well. he could be hosting a TV marathon of these properties or something. he could be given a scary makeover and made him look more scary ( if the original look wasn't scary enough) he could always be made to look more evil.

and Cindy, (but a child icon could be too controversial) but what if they made an older version of Cindy, what if she was 20 now or something. she doesn't have to be a child now.
make her into movies and videogames. maybe she loves fallout and FNAF.

I know these characters get mentioned all the time and every year, but this year with this lineup, it actually makes sense. it would fit these properties. make Eddie a gamer, or Cindy too, make them gamers
make one of the scarezones this year about generic videogame stuff again.
lean into the gaming aspect more.

no need for new icons yet when these ones could fit perfectly. they are fan favorites.
adapt these characters as gamers or something.

There was a video of the Wyatt Sicks posted several pages back that essentially had them in their own rooms and was very much giving off haunted house vibes. Not a WWE fan, but after watching that video I’m very on board with the concept. My brother on the other hand is a HUGE WWE fan who has also gone to HHN before and enjoys it quite a bit, but he also just had his first kid, so he openly stated that a WWE house would be the deciding factor on if he goes this year or not. My sister-in-law even reached out asking about how strong of a possibility it would be that it’d be coming. I really do think it opens up an entirely different fanbase coming to the event, the ones like my brother who will pay loads of money to go to live WWE events that sometimes have no bearing on actual storylines from their televised shows, and that’s exactly what Universal wants.
