Then the zone isn’t Japan-centric. Hollywood, in this scenario, would basically be a “HHN Japan” zone.

anime is big enough that hhn could benefit from a genetic anime related zone. ( or something with Netflix)

Due to the new FanFest event in Hollywood & the years of anime success at USJ, I'd never fully rule it out of the future possibilities at HHN (both coasts)

Variety is key. Otherwise we get same old same year after year

working with Netflix the same way they work with Blum house ( or another anime studio) maybe they can do a blumhouse style house or zone incorporating different properties or a collage of things. does peacock have any horror anime?
I see death note on peacock. those shinigami demons would be insane to have for hhn. a death note zone ?

On the topic of a 12th house location - would it be possible to set up a temporary tent in this area?

1736428763441.png

Is the pad for the queue space still there?

That pad was just temporary and removed. You could use this area for a tent, along with the area to the north between it and the newer sprung tents (Where they can eventually add more tents/warehouses for HHN).

In 10 years. That whole area is just gonna be filled to the brim with tents and warehouses

I do really think we need maybe another house in the back of house if we ever do get 12 houses. Maybe just do the MiB tent somewhere in the back of house

EDIT - LOL I just realized my count was off and we already have a permit for SS 22 (Poppy). Regardless, take the two images and combine them and you can see a possible solution.

So… I know people are trying to figure out where the 12th house will be, and I like the ideas I’m seeing.

But my gut tells me, it’s going to be a soundstage. And while that feels… insane… considering what it could mean for queues, I have been told they have a plan. That plan requires creative thinking for the houses and queues. For houses, I think it means traditional entrances and exits from the soundstages may change. There are MULTIPLE doors to each. Nothing says the doors we’ve always entered have to be the same this year.

And, well, I think I figured out a couple of solutions for queues.

The first queue solution is something we’ve seen before—a soundstage queue. Now, I’m trying to remember the specifics of this in the past, but I’m certain they queued TWO houses in one soundstage (I’m pretty sure that was in soundstage 21). So… that saves a lot of queue space.

The SECOND idea is something new… and that is actually queuing for a soundstage house inside its own soundstage. It’s based what they did for Screamhouse in 2002, which saw a full switchback in front of the house facade. Now, if a house in a larger soundstage (like 25, which can fit two houses) is oriented with the facade to the middle of the soundstage, you can actually put several switchback inside the soundstage AND in front of the facade (similar to Sprung 2, but inside). NOW, we’re saving space.

The next issue is house portals. We know we have houses in 23, 24, and 25. Traditionally, 22 or 21 would be used. BUT, there are a couple of soundstages that have been used in the past that open up some options: 19 and 20.

Now, one of those has been by creative the last few years for attraction research testing (like Mario Kart), but I don’t recall which. But, I believe that capability is moving (or has moved) to the South Campus (Epic). Why? Because both of those soundstages are listed as available for rent on the Production website (maybe they always were, but I’m rolling with this theory). Why does that matter? Because if Universal uses soundstage 19, there can be a house portal at Minion Mayhem.

IMG_0359.jpeg

This is just a mock up, but you can you can see where there is still space for more queue as necessary. This also leaves portions of the breezeway open for the casts.

BUT even if 19 or 20 isn’t available and they go with 22 (ol’ reliable) using the soundstages for queues fixes a lot of potential problems that may not actually exist.

IMG_0360.jpeg

Just food for thought.

That is “the” question of the matter.

Are they still using the portable trailer(s) and tents in the breezeway? Theoretically, those can move.

Yeah, they still do the trailers and tents in the breezeway.

And I'd be totally fine with this, especially considering all the on and off rain I experienced last year. Plus, the queues in soundstages are a nice reprieve from the muggy nights.

Also, considering which soundstages are available for rent, is there a possibility of soundstage 33 being used? Either way, there's multiple options for the 7th soundstage + queues.

It would spread more people to the other side of the park. Better for guest flow. The issue with having a 7th soundstage house is that it would cause a major bottleneck problem. It would be chaos lol.

Soundstage 33, I highly doubt, is on the table. It’s frequently used for park events (especially corporate buyouts, as it belongs to the park), so I doubt they want to lose it for an extended period of time. That’s money off the table.

Could also exit by portal at Minion Mayhem, but that'd be a big bottleneck right as you enter the park.
