Oh, so we'll just complain about this happening; which TOTALLY hasn't happened before.

Texas, NOEs, Friday and Saw have all had year's to where they were back to back.

Am I dissapointed in Murdy and team? Yes, but I don't find it surprising. And if I was to guess, it'll be basically bringing back last year's house but with new scenes similar to Back to Business back from 2008.

All this scrambling to find a replacement property could be avoided if they'd just do an original maze but oh well

Meanwhile, Orlando is apparently using elements from The Conjuring and just spinning it off to an Original house altogether, as it should be for Hollywood.

I get why they decided to just bring back Chainsaw, but now I'm curious on how the marketing will play in for the Terror Tram, as it was going to feature the "Titans of Horror" (or as I'd call it, The Killer Quartet). I'm curious if Leatherface may become exempt from that now, or that they'll figure something out altogether. Either way, I'm curious about that aspect, if Leatherface is what is replacing The Conjuring (as it hasn't started construction as of yet).

LEATHERFACE

Yeah the Origin Story to Leatherface from TCM or the Prequel coming out this October will be Replacing The Conjuring and will be in the Waterworld Queue. Our Hollywood Exclusive along with Insidious.

SERIOUSLY. Why is Murdy so allergic to do an original maze!? Why do you need to repeat the same crap every year!? This is FIFTH time we've had Leatherface. Geez.

Honestly, this year seems on the mediocre side to me. I'm sure there will be some pleasant surprises; but we can't expect hits every year.

A good example of that is the E3's for Sony these past few years. They had year after year in a row of success, starting in 2013, but this year was the first time that the conference felt weak since 2012.

I'll say this, out of one thing that I'd guess.

It could be, that every time he tried an original maze; it had only mediocre to sub-par GSAT scores. And that it could've been more of an effect of him working under the Kurtzweil year's, as there were reportedly, major cuts to Horror Nights in the past.

I have to think, with Murdy more and more transitioning to Ireland, that this will be his last year under the wings of creative work for specialty events for Universal Studios Hollywood.

Michael Aiello doesn't work for Horror Nights anymore, as he got above and became into a much higher role. And that, with Karen Irwin now into place, I am starting to believe that change will be coming for next year; as Irwin was not under any form of work when development began last year on Halloween Horror Nights 2017.

That leaves the question of The Conjuring. It's a very unique history, as it's seemed to have more than it's fair share of dilemmas to come. This year, it's the Lawsuit. And that I think, it's going to eventually arrive to the event. It won't be for a while though..

Honestly would much rather have a FT13 maze over Leatherface. I mean, the marketing would be perfect, and would coincide so well with the release of the new game.

Funny, last year Conjuring was rumored to be where Waterworld is, only to have Texas Chainsaw.... Guess if it ain't broke, don't fix it! Lol.

What a comparison. How dare you compare HHN to something like E3!:)

Nope, still does...

They've milked TCM enough! It's the backup maze for everything, AWIL and I guess Conjuring
now. I'm so sick of it.

I'm with Freak on this one, it's dumb:censored: decision

Wow. I tried to be optimistic about this year, but everything in this lineup is pure trash(except for the Shining). I hate this lineup and if all this is actually confirmed I am not wasting a single penny on this year's event!

I mean that, in a context of which; meaning that you won't be always able to top yourself. Sony didn't have anything exciting, and that what was shown was mostly 2018.

What I mean that, in translation to Horror Nights; is that through 2014 to 2016, there were outstanding mazes that topped the quality. They set a bar that honestly, when repeated; will cause issues.

Sony's E3 was, in a sense; a rerun of last year, with the exception of more titles for next year. This year's Horror Nights, stems on that far too many of the IP's are already used.

The only original substances will be Jabbawockeez (which, that's something to say) and the Scarezones for this year. Outside of that, everything is based on Intellectual Properties. They have faced that point to where they need to make changes, as they are becoming more predictible and that it'll cause issues.

Honestly, I would transfer Markham Gannon from Resorts World Sentosa (creative director of Halloween Horror Nights Singapore) to the Hollywood team.

Then don't go just because of not liking one maze? Sure!:popcorn:Makes sense...

Everybody is talking about TCM as if it was confirmed. There is a chance that we won't be getting it. But, a small one if that.

I mean that on the overall lineup, and not just because of Texas Chainsaw returning.

If there is one positive that I see with Texas from last year; was that it wasn't a simple retelling of the original film or it's sequel. Instead, it was something original; using the likeness and characters that have been so iconic in the first place.

I honestly think that if they are going forward with Texas, it'll be a continuation of the original storyline from last year but with new scenes added into the flair.

While I am grossly disappointed about this Leatherface rumor, at least we still have some mazes that might surprise us. Remember 2015? While, IMO, it wasn't an amazing year, four out of the six turned out to be surprisingly good. Back then we only had six mazes and now we have eight. I'm still going to give this year a chance, but it sure as heck won't gonna be good as last year.

And not to mention 2011, apparently.

I do believe that Halloween Horror Nights is going to see Murdy depart the team.

Chris? That's a better question.

The thing is this comes from Someone who works at the Park and it might just be my Original Source. The Source who originally gave me the lineup. So there's a very big chance it's possible that Leatherface will be the Replacement.

Nothing is 100% confirmed until we see it get released. We've all learned our lesson from that.

EDIT: After listening to the podcast I don't think Murdy will be leaving anytime soon. It's his passion and he will find a way to stay at HHN. Plus, who will take over, Mike possibly?

Not to mention one of those (IMO) was TWD. Its best year there, and definitely the scariest.

I do feel this year will have sleeper hits (Saw, Evil Dead, possibly Blumhouse) but this is the weakest lineup ever.

To be quite honest, I'd say 2010 is higher than this year.

There are only two houses that I'm more curious of. Those two being Shining, and Evil Dead.

2010? The only favorite I had was House of 1000 Corpses.
