I know from reading this thread that Universal has confirmed it'll be Retail/Dining in this location, but does anyone know whether there was any hint at a time frame for completion when those details were announced?

I don't think so, but I believe this will be complete by the time the Wizarding World opening rolls around.

While that sounds great and it better be done by then, I seriously doubt it. They would have to go CRAZY FAST being that HHN is about three and a half months from now.Holy crap! Its THAT soon!? Geez time has flown!

It is funny how time has flown since January..I agree with you completely. It is very doubtful that they'd get it done by Horror Nights. Maybe the end like what happened with Orlandos Cowfish but even then, I doubt it from happening by Horror Nights start.

While I personally wouldn't expect anything opening a few months out it wouldn't surprise me either if they got it up and running before Labor Day. While it isn't an open courtyard, the construction progress on this venue is oddly similar to Universal Plaza (contracting issues aside) which was pretty much only frames around this time back in 2013 too.

Yes but if they wanted it done by Horror nights, steel would of gone up as fast as March. Not a few weeks ago. And technically, DM was easy due to reusing a existing area, and with Potter. The reason for that is due to Volcano Bay Stucco teams wanting to start as soon as winter. Theres a lot of variables they had to go in to get it done and I just don't see it happening by the time Horror Nights start.

Edit. Mind I remind you that Springfield took about a year and a few months from start of demolish of establishments to the finished product.

Potter's progess is due to lack of delays, mainly rain.

Also, Potter was assembled from the ground up. No previous facilities were used to build upon.

I think looking at how Universal Plaza progressed in comparison to this project isn't a bad place to start off.

The problem with that is that the raptor Encounter would seem pointless there as Jurassic Park is in the lower lot.

Honestly, I can't tell with Universal anymore haha. I'd hope it would be open before the holiday season, but you never know. I think in about a month we'll be able to tell what the time line is once more starts to be constructed.

This could possibly be open for the holiday season...but I can imagine Potter will be springtime and this will easily line up with that.

Looking at the entryway yesterday I started to wonder if they are going to pump this out so that way they some how have time to re theme Pizza Hut and cartooniversal a bit before next spring.

It would give the park a "completed" feel

As I was walking around Universal Orlando Resort this week I had the new construction at House of Horrors site on my mind.  This jumped out at me as possible inspiration for what we may be getting here in Hollywood.  It happens to be just inside the gate like ours.  It's a big rectangle.  The exterior can be made to look like several different storefronts making the visitor think each door holds something new inside.  Rather than a sweet shop we would probably get Starbucks, perhaps both.  This seems to fit all the rumors that I've heard.  Not exciting to me but it was full of people when I was there.
