This is one of the dumbest things I’ve seen on this forum. It willfully ignores any progress the parks have made on MANY fronts and boils it down to nostalgia viewed attractions and nothing else.

I’ve seen this for twenty years in the Disney community, really reconsider your hot takes.

When attractions are the main things attracting people to a theme park you can’t fault people for thinking a park is currently worse off when past attractions were better than what’s there currently. It’s all personal taste though. My personal taste for instance is that I’d rather have Disaster! back than F&F, broken effects and all. You can’t beat Christopher Walken. What a giant waste of money that was when something truly great could’ve replaced it.

I think a lot of Universal Creative is now on Commodity Circle in South Park. The building they're in over there is bigger than any of the other locations (I think). I'd guess one office is focused on one project while the others are focused on other projects.

Google Maps

I'd assume from the proximity of the South Park office that it is where the South Property development plans are unfolding.

Now and forever the new park’s name shall be “South Park.” The marketing writes itself lol.

Dude.... don’t give them ideas. On a totally unrelated note, if anybody is going to HHN, may I suggest a high powered zoom lense?

There's a lot of unwarranted hostility going in on this thread the last couple days, and I really don't like it.

I don't understand why stating that one might prefer the attractions lineup of previous decades at USF is somehow an act of heresy or stupidity, or tantamount to a defense of bad ownership and management.

There's a difference in saying "I prefer the old attractions" versus "Everything new sucks"

Welp.

EDIT: I also wanna clarify that I never said preferring the old lineup was stupid. Implying the Resort is failing in any way is stupid.

To be fair, most of the new stuff isn't very good, with the exception of Diagon Alley and HRRR. Simpson's is meh (hate the ride, the land is okay at best), F&F is horrible, Fallon is meh, Transformers is meh, Minions is okay.

No, in your opinion most of the new stuff "isn't very good". To me, Simpsons is better in every facet compared to BTTF, Springfield is one of my favorite places in an Orlando theme park, Fallon is no more/less forgettable than the other two attractions that inhabited its space, Minions is a great ride, and Transformers is one of the best rides in Orlando. Not to mention Kong is one of my favorites in Orlando, and Hogsmeade and Diagon are two of the best lands in the world.

The only ride that is a downgrade, IMO, is F&F, even if its badness is way overhyped.

That's a fair distinction... though I do think those of us who express opinions along the lines of the former are sometimes treated as if we've expressed opinions along the lines of the latter. I think they're very different things.

Getting back to Jurassic..the thought occurs.

If River Adventure get's a revamp to match World, I would be curious if Orlando got the I-Rex or the I-Rap for the finale of their version. Odds are, it'd be probably I-Re, but I wouldn't mind the Rap to get some time.

I was thinking about this thread earlier today and none of this really matters. It is what it is and nobody is going to agree which is fine. Calling opinions stupid or wrong bothers me but whatever.

We're on the cusp of a new resort and everything that's rumoured and the ideas that are being put out there is going to fix a lot of the issues that everybody here seems to have.

We all ultimately have the same goal for Universal.

Maybe start a new thread and let everybody have at it like the Purge and get it over with and get this thread back on track. I feel weird saying that as I'm constantly taking threads in the wrong direction.

I was referring to Studios (IOA keeps getting great additions). But the Simpson's Ride is the worst ride I've ever ridden at a theme park, Transformers was forgettable, Minions is fun. At least, that's my opinion.

As it currently stands, I see no reason to go back to USF anytime in the near future. Nintendo would have given me every reason to go back, but that's not coming anymore. The next time I go to Universal (which won't be for a few years), my trip will consist of Fantastic Worlds, Islands of Adventure, Volcano Bay, and potentially the next water park.

Which is fair; however, I do think some people really forget, or lose sight, of how rough some the Resort was before Potter. Sure, the attractions may have been more practical, and feature some all-time franchises, but most of those rides were in bad shape.

There's also a lot of equating of one's opinion to the general masses. Everything UOR has added in the past 10 years, other than F&F, has been a winner to the regular guests according to guest spending, attendance, and surveys.

There's a lot I would like to say on that subject, but I won't further clutter this thread.

I'm happy to continue this discussion in a more appropriate thread (if one exists).

HRRR a good addition... :oO:

Basically what this thread shows- everyone has their own opinions but some opinions are better than others:grin:

In all seriousness, the resort as a whole has gone leaps and bounds in the right direction compared to 10 years ago. Sure there are flaws but overall they've moved forward.

HRRR gave the park a good thrill coaster, and I like it more than Mummy. But you're right, everyone has their own opinions ;)

Side Note: I would love to see Orlando add a waterfall in front of whatever dino is in the finale like Hollywood... Maybe even the same music they use at USH... They both add a whole new layer of fear to the experience.

Back to the JP coaster...

I think it’s a testament to the insiders here that we’re even aware there’s a ‘speedbump’ but I’m not alarmed by it.

I’d bet a majority of attractions hit the same bumps on the road but we don’t hear about them. The big thing will be if this issue delays the opening by any significant time.
