I have yet to have the opportunity to ride but I have enjoyed various POVs, and in each one it seems like the final Dracula has been having some issues. Has anyone else noticed this? In some he’s completely stationary and never comes down from the ceiling, and in others he comes down but the light effect from the daylight beam is illuminated before he even appears so it ruins the surprise. I’m assuming the intended effect is for him to take one final lunge at you and then the daylight beam stops him in his tracks?

Yes, that's the intended way it's supposed to work but they don't have it down pat yet.

That's been my experience as well. The few times it works it looks great!

Monsters is getting there. The only animatronic yesterday that wasn't working was Dracula. Phantom was on and off, but it was working still. The attraction was also only closed down maybe once or twice, was running very reliably yesterday

Finale Drac definitely is the moment furthest from being fully show-ready. The animatronic has been very inconsistent, and even when he has been working, not only has the timing been off but he's definitely not moving at full functionality quite yet (you can see what that'll look like in the animatronic reveal video and it genuinely seems terrifying).

There's another that hasn't been running—maybe you two have noticed it but is it functional now?

After the Brides are set loose there's a scene where Franky's Monster is attacked by a bride. He's been wrapped in what I can only describe as a black body bag for the last couple of weeks I think but it did work before.

Was that AA back up?

I will say I do have one MAJOR concern with Unchained:

Most of the animatronic figures in the ride are doing highly articulated, fast and intense movement on loop for 12+ hours every day. I'm worried about the longevity of that. In less than a year we've already seen most of the Tiana animatronics almost never work, so I really hope Universal has a plan for these monsters.

Also, really hope they keep the first preshow ending with the lights going out as you enter Victoria's lab, much more effective in keeping that genuine tension and nerves, and just scarier! In a video from yesterday the lights stayed on, hopefully it was just a 1-day thing?

I love this, and am so interested in this. I have the one day on May 30. Please give me all of the tips about getting this three or four times in a single day.

Just to keep in mind.....May 30th will probably have a much higher attendance/capacity than these preview dates.

Keep an eye on wait times, they'll spike up and down throughout the day. The worst is probably first thing in the morning and then once it gets dark or near closing time.

If the ride is having a good day it shouldn't be difficult to squeeze a few rides in. It's when it goes down multiple times or for a prolonged period that it becomes harder to do so.

fwiw, my daughter rode 8 times in one day using the single rider queue. Once she put her stuff in a locker, she was allowed to keep it there while she circled around riding. I had ridding w/ her on two runs -- the sorter made a comment about how quickly we were back passing by her.

My daughter did one runs of three and one run of five. The estimated wait time was in the 45 minute range when she did her run throughs.

You skip the pre-shows so one should certainly use the regular queue on your first visit....there's a good chance you will want to experience the pre-shows more than once IMHO.

This ride has to have my favorite single rider line ever. It's so convenient. It's right near the giftshop that you enter as you exit the ride and so are the lockers. Literally you can go in and out so easily with no issues. When I did it the other day I did that for nearly 2 hours, it was amazing. I love this ride so much

Happy to say that your favorite Unchained over-analyzer will be back there on the 1st! I think I need to ride just a couple hundred more times to finish my analysis of the ride, then probably a couple hundred more times after to verify said research.

(In case it wasn't obvious, while I do still have the few grievances, I absolutely love this ride lol)

Any word yet if they will fix the Dracula “finale” animatronic by opening day? I PRAY that this doesn’t become a “Disco Yeti” scenario where it’s permanently in B-Mode. Mostly because I have yet to see it functioning on the ride, and the P.O.V’s that I have seen online look absolutely show-stopping.

Alicia put it perfectly in her new video (regarding the blank curtain after Drac escapes), literally just add another skull wall with some lighting effects. That's all they have to do.

Also, one lighting change I'd make: When Ygor begins turning on the daylight beams and you see Dracula flying, while I'll fully concede this might not be doable since there's always an RV in there every 3 seconds, have it be almost pitch black until the Monster blasts the daylight beam at the bride that comes down, an epic reveal that adds onto the cinematic feeling of that entire scene.

The realistic Hagrid animatronic in the outdoor scene of his ride has been working very reliably and he's outside all the time

Fair warning- If you get motion sick, I've been told the seat on the right of the RV (so on the far left when facing it/boarding) is the most intense.

Also fair warning, if you don't like how much Forbidden Journey puts you on your back, you probably won't like this.

I didn't have any issues with the on my back staring at the ceiling thing with Monsters, but I definitely did on Forbidden Journey...
