Nick- we're not arguing IPs or their use of them.
@belloq87 is correct. Tron is fine in Tomorrowland. So is Rat in Paris.
Will there be people who dislike it. Sure- but they're in the minority.
People are thrilled about them because they do two things:
1) Thematically fit
2)
Add capacity with new attractions/lands instead of replacing a previous attraction.
What do you think the reaction would be if the rumor was the they blow out a few acres of the parking lot at DHS, removed (or even kept) the stunt show- and made a fully themed Indiana Jones area with 2 attractions (1 + stunt or 2 new)?
How about if they said Indiana Jones was going in the expansion spot just next to Jungle Cruise- a new expansion area with dining and an E-ticket?
That's the difference. Again- it thematically fits, and adds capacity- so there would be very few naysayers. Not that everything needs to be a new area- but it simply doesn't fit, thematically.
