The DK DLC is 20 bucks

I have no idea why Nintendo hates its fans so much, 10 bucks would suck but thats nothing but this is like something that should be a free update for a 70 dollar game

I've really not been too hard on the anti-Nintendo train like a lot of people lately, but yeah. This sucks. Barring the Global World Events™, there is no good reason for products these limited to cost $70-$90. Lots of them were already pushing it at $50-$60.

DK DLC is ridiculous. I love that game to death; but for $20, it better give me a Stardew Valley-tier content for value ratio. No game is worth $90 for all of it's content, and to show it off so soon after release just feels scummy. An Odyssey-style Peach's Castle post-game world was the only thing the game was missing. You couldn't have possibly fit that in the base game? Or even just added it as free post-launch content?

Having played it a little bit, while the DLC is cool, it's a bit sparse when it comes to content, and absolutely does not justify the cost. DK Isle is not a fully fledged world, there are no bananas or fossils. It's basically a place to view statues you can unlock by spending Banandium Chips.

The new mode is fun, but it's not super in-depth, and you can only play it in 5 of the layers within the game. This all would've been great as a free post-launch update, but the value here is really being stretched thin as a $20 upcharge.

Really happy that Fire Emblem was not what I expected whatsoever. A Sequel/Prequel title seems incredibly interesting for me, especially with one like Three Houses.

That's so unfortunate. $20 is the price of a full-game, or at least a whole new campaign. That should be saved for an Octo Expansion or a Bowser's Fury kind of situation; definitely not something on the level of a single smaller Mario Odyssey kingdom.

Really? Considering the base game was a gift the $20 won’t really hurt me but that sucks that DK Island doesn’t have much new. I want to play it still because I loved the base game but this is a bit deflating. The new mode only being in 5 layers is actually a plus to me as a 100% completionist because this gameplay loop seems like it could get old fast lol

I’m really starting to believe the theory that a lot of this pricing stems from them trying to do whatever they can without raising the price of the Switch 2 console itself.

Rumor is there’s also a PS4 version which will likely look pretty similar.

The Galaxy ports and DK DLC are genuinely the first Switch 2 issue that I actually get the hate over. $40 for a Wii game, even in 4K is absurd. The DLC should’ve been a free update.

Tomodachi Life looks amazing. MP4 looks… good, and I’m REALLY excited to try it in 120FPS or 4K, but the open world motorcycle scene looked incredibly boring. My expectations are honestly going down for this game.

The new Yoshi looks adorable, I hope it’s 4K or 1440p60fps with that beautiful art style. Doesn’t seem to be breaking a lot of new ground, but I’m sure I’ll enjoy it.

RE8 looked great to me. It seems like the Switch 2’s MO is going to be “you can play great looking versions of all current gen games, with the tradeoff that everyone’s hair is going to look super crunchy.”

I have still never played a Fire Emblem game, and this direct was giving me major flashbacks to 2019 when I desperately wanted an update on “Animal Crossing Switch” and it seemed like every Direct ended with 20 minutes of Fire Emblem content. Very much the same situation here.

I was almost 100% sure they’d tease Animal Crossing here given Yoshi, Luigi’s Mansion and Animal Crossing are the only series that are incredibly likely to get new games soon, using deductive reasoning with their release times and what their teams have been up to.

If DK DLC wasn’t a thing I feel like 3D Mario would’ve been teased which I’m thinking now will either straight up be Galaxy 3 or have a lot of Galaxy-like elements. The credits of Bananza don’t cover a lot of the people that worked on Odyssey so what are they working on?

I get the pricing concerns for these but I’m still buying both the DK DLC and Galaxy 2. Don’t hate me lol

I bet 3D Mario is the holiday 2026 game. I no longer think it will be later than 2026, but I’m not surprised that it wasn’t even mentioned here.

I’ll probably get the DK DLC too. But half of the reason I got a Steam Deck is so I’ll never have to buy Nintendo’s absurdly priced rereleases, so I just can’t justify getting either Galaxy game when I could play them in 4K and everything at any time

I disagree. The textures of RE look super rough. The hair especially which you did note. It looked like everyone was wearing a strange wig haha

I was considering putting Wii games on my Steam Deck but it seems like way too much of a hassle to ask my PC knowledgable friend to setup correctly. Simply spending $40 is easier plus I’m sure in a few years we get Wii games in the Nintendo Classics.
