While I have no insight and just making a guess, the old Candy Store that was next to the Funnel Cake place at the front of the park has been sitting empty for a few months now. When I peeked through an uncovered window, it seemed to be basically empty storage. So not sure if that's it.

That has its own permit for some tenant improvements. My thought is they will be expanding the funnel cake location into there.

Expand the funnel cake shop, but still understaff it so the line stretches through half the park.

I've been saying for a while they need to either fully gut and/or tear down that entire building, and start all over with an more modern one. It's so outdated, and that includes the terrible bathrooms on the other side of the building. Just replace it all.

Unrelated to above, I’m hearing the park is reevaluating their operations and weighing which coasters are worth salvaging and which may be worth removing in the coming years. Have heard Superman, Ninja, Viper, and even X2 as candidates - though X2 is considerably very popular, they may just go a different route for reevaluating the maintenance there.

Yah. As much as I love X2, hasnt it been a PIA to get spare parts for like years?

IIRC even the original X opening was delayed because of issues.

If it goes its a pretty large plot of land for something new

SFMM cannot seem to get this new attraction right as they yet again failed a review on these new retaining wall permits

Curious to see how many older coasters are removed from the Six Flags chain in the next five or so years considering what’s been said in the latest financial meeting and the recent rumours of Green Lantern and Ka being removed.

I would be a little disappointed if they got rid of Superman, unless what they replace it with is stellar. No way they replace X2. That’s too popular and unique.

Everything else I wouldn’t be too upset about leaving.

It may not matter much longer as I have heard there is a possibility of moving this project to another park in the chain. Also, the park may go several years without much investment as SFMM has been downgraded to a second tier park.

Uh. A second tier park?

I honestly dont buy that.

What other parks make the chain more money?

SFMM has very high operating costs that off set any major profit. Most of our revenue comes from memberships, with some of the lowest in park spending of any park in the chain. Six Flags valued this park, the new CF leadership does not (they love HH however).

Major investment coming to parks with higher earning potential. Great Adventure, Canada's Wonderland, Great America, Knott's, Fiesta Texas and of course Cedar Point

I get what you are saying but i still dont buy it. (Nothing against you).
knotts and SFMM are not even comparable in terms of clientele. And if they do nothing prior to the olympics they might as well just sell it off to some ownership group who values it. Because sitting on their tochous while those other parks gear up for the olympics is going to shoot the entire chain in foot (financially speaking)

Also. How does this jive with the current rumors of them taking out KK + 3 other rides at GA?

Wait until you see what's coming to Great Adventure.

Btw, don't take my word for it. Ask yourself, what has the park done since Wonder Woman opened in 2022, all bareboned, with little to no theming?

Not just in terms of coasters, but ANY investment what's so ever?

I'm not saying that we're suddenly Six Flags America. The park will see investments, but not like before. Those other parks I mentioned are most important.

Tbh id rather see SFMM re-evaluate and find ways of improving upon itself more directly and to have something by LA2028 than to let it suffer further than what it currently has on its plate.

I wonder if the Sky Tower refurbishment is now dead following the moves by the new leadership.

Hasnt that been their focus this year? Infrastructure improvements etc (like them finally updating the sign by the freeway, beefing up teams?) pretty much giving the entire park the TLC it as needed for a long time?

also as an aside, someone posted on the sfmm reddit that giolath is finally being repainted?
