I love how these 1920s expedition trucks are going to be well-versed in crab-steering.

Expect nods to everything from American Adventure, Terminator, Jungle Cruise, and even the original IOA Jurassic Park. The only frustrating problem for me is that I fear most guests won't even know what was an illusion and what was not.

Guess I'm going to be doing tons of movie watching between now and when the ride opens to catch all those references.

Why would you watch movies? The four things mentioned in my post are ride attractions at Disney World and Universal Studios, not movies.

Meant to type videos. Saw Terminator, thought movies and had a brain fart -__-

ORLANDO is the home base of Universal Creative.

However, they contract out all over the country and world. Many of the engineering firms hired to create final plans (so-called blueprints) for construction are out of Florida.

The landscape engineers for Volcano Bay are out of Boulder, Colorado as odd as that might seem. I doubt this has changed.

The minutiae between napkin scratch and final engineering continues to mystify me to some degree. I have a ton of respect for the process, especially at UOR and UC.

it mystify s me also brother. that creative energy screams to me in orlando..... if that sounds strange.

Got a little bored so did a crap hack to show you all how long the trucks will actually be. Note that the middle axle will not exist. They will be two axle vehicles.

This will be a nice capacity attraction. Probably 2000+ per hour. It will help to keep the line times reasonable.

That is a very large RV, should have incredible capacity! Although, I am a little concerned about visibility. If the concept art holds true, there are bars along the sides and a canopy overhead a vehicle that seats 4 adults abreast. I keep thinking of Dinosaur, where when the big dino finale happens, everyone looks up. I imagine kong will be quiet a bit bigger and taller than ol' Carnotaurus. If you're sitting on the wrong side, will your view be a lot less spectacular? I'm sure they think of this stuff, but I'm always cautious of roofed RVs. Everything worth seeing has to be about eye level.

Seems like each truck will hold about the same of people that fit on a boat for JP: River Adventure.

I heard it's possible there might not be a canopy on the trucks, at least not at all like it is pictured in the concept art, but who knows. I keep hearing that the truck in concept art is not all like what the real one will be, but no one is being any more specific than that.

I've hear similar, though I'm not sure how the 360 scene will work without one as the screens do not go overhead

Perhaps the same as Gringott's finale. With a clearly visible black roof if you look straight up.

Someone posted that there would be no canopies months and months ago. I checked into it but never reported here.

All that I could find out was that there were concerns within UC regarding screen sight-lines with the canopies and that it was debated back and forth in meetings. I have assumed since they released the concept art that it had finally been decided that the canopies would remain.

I finally found time to watch your video. Excellent. I like how you inserted the entrance concept art into the section with Kong's head. It's also interesting to see the bobcat moving along the area where the outdoor section will be. It gives you an idea of the scale (though the bobcat is smaller than the probably 50 plus capacity vehicles). I wonder when they'll have the vehicles on site for testing. Should be in the near future, I'd guess.

I would guess that the higher the canopies were, the easier it would be for side sight lines, which would then still serve the purpose of blocking the blank overhead view.
