I have to say ,that me and my family only have been twice to Universal Orlando, once was a few years back and then just last year, right about now, that I FAR AND AWAY prefer the new HD version, and we had ZERO complaints about anything other than one of the many times we rode, the entire ride was completely out of sync, which we were allowed to get RIGHT back on and ride again with no problems. The last night we were there,we must have rode Spidey 10 times in a row....love it...I am itching to go back, but want to wait a bit for the recent wave of refurbs and new construction to be completed...

I thaught he end spiel voiveover want Peter Parker now or before, he doesnt didnt soud like Peter Parker. Eitherway, Im glad they decided to use Stan Lee for the closing, it dont get any tter than that!

Yes, it's great that they honored Stan the Man with the, I believe, three brief appearances. His sheer volume of work writing & directing Marvel over the years is amazing. When I read that first Marvel in the sixties, I became a Stan Lee fan for life. Stan & Jack Kirby introduced so many characters that are still popular 50 years later.

Why does Peter Parker sound like an old man now?!

Because if it wasn't for that "old man" there'd be no Peter Parker. I think it's fantastic that they got Stan Lee himself to do it, quite an honor for the team for him to be involved.

did not know it was Stan Lee--I thought they were trying to pass that off as Peter Parker's voice, like it was in the last version of the ride. Pretty cool fact.

I know I am going to get blasted for saying this, but I was never a fan of the original soundtrack. I just felt too Theme-Parky to me. Dare I say, Six Flags-ish.

You shouldn't get blasted for it. Music is pretty subjective. I see what you're saying. I don't think you can argue that the new soundtrack isn't of higher quality. It's crisper, and more layered with timing and detail. I just preferred the original instrument selection better. I miss the guitar riffs, and I sorely miss the former theme as you exit.

The old version is always playing in the parking garages. Its the original song along with somew dialoug from the ride, kind of a re-mix. One of these days Im going use my tripod to extend my cam to the speaker so I can record the whole thing!

Peter Parker's voice was never in the end of the last version of the ride. That end spiel was J Jonah Jameson's assistant, the same voice and character you see before boarding that plays on the Scoot Safety videos.

Splatter speaks the truth guys. He's that bald, chubby dude you see in the vids. Pete had a much different voice. In the 90's cartoon series Pete was voiced by the same dude who did Prince Eric in the movie The Little Mermaid, but in the ride he is voiced by a different actor.

I do feel that they messed with the ride a little too much during the upgrade. I prefer the pacing of the older version, and of course nothing beats the old soundtrack that tied everything together perfectly.

I feel as if there are a few spots that are awkward. Such as Scene 9.1, just after the levitation. There's this gap between the scenes that's really noticeable. The old version just dove right into the "I'm webbing you down!" part. The fall is also way too fast.

All I was hoping for was new animation and a darker tone, but with the exact same timings. The pacing on the old version just worked better IMO.

I do love how they implemented the new RV control software used on TF. It enables the actuators to move faster and smoother, something that was extremely challenging to balance with the old software. A fine example is when the RV briefly gets caught in Hobgoblins jet wash in Scene 2 (warehouse).

That being said, I am still thankful for the much needed upgrade this ride got. It's still my favorite ride anywhere.

^yes! If they could've kept the pacing and soundtrack the same while just cleaning up the animation and not messing with anyone else, THEN I think it would be a perfect ride.

I agree completely. The fall is what suffered the most during pacing. In both the rise with to appreciate the lowering of the real sets and window light projections as well as the sensation of falling has been lost a little.

Even with those problems, Spidey is still one of the top 5 rides in Orlando.

I'm not challenging that even though I prefer TF and the FJ. It's still "that" ride that just changed things.

Interesting item of note, wasn't an easy upgrade as the Spider-Man RVs interact with the RCS differently then at TF.

You may know more than I do, but I don't quite get how that would effect how the Rvs talk with the RCS. Aren't the RVs doing their own thing and just hitting cues along the track? As I understand it, it was just to make the profile smoother.

If you can, I would love to hear in detail how they made the upgrade to the RV's and how the RCS is different between this and Transformers. I love those technical details.

I too am joining the its all better bar the music... Which at the beginning with J Jonah's spiel almost sounds porny..... Not that I've ever watched porn of course lol.

I loved it, the picture was so much clearer you could tell what was happening easier and it made the story and action pieces tighter and more fluid. I really couldn't tell in parts where the screen ended and set pieces started.

It's great to see Stan Lee in the film... Twice! And hearing him at the end was uber cool... Although I too assumed the previous voice at the end was Peter's too.
