I don't care how many graphics cards they are running.
1. The total cores is likely less than a percent of Pixar's rederfarm.
2. Pixar renders at 4K, this ride was hyped as like 8 times that, or at least 4.
Ain't no way a computer canrender anything realtime that looks impressive at that size. Now, there won't be any hair, so that greatly reduces render stress. But there will be explosions, I assume, stars, exhaust flames, debris of blown up tie fighters.
People seem to think this will look like FoP, a movie that took a massive renderfarm MONTHS to render. The look of the ride will be much less, so that it can be essentially a video game. It will LOOK like a Star Wars video game.
As for the other video game a hundred yards away at DHS, do you try and get paired up with a 60 year old woman as your ride partner, or someone else who knows how to trigger bonus rounds. I won't believe until I see it that this ride is very interactive at all. If it is, it will be a HUGE gamble by Disney. Again, imiagine spending thousands of dollars on a trip, waiting 3 hours to ride the Falcon, and get in the ride, in the back seat, with 4 older women from a Brazilian tour group at the helm.
