Video from Orlando Informer showing the complete lack of LC games and how that drastically changes the sightline as you approach Hogmeade. It will be interesting to see exactly what they do with this area.

^ That is a great video overview. It will be interesting to see what replaces what on either side... I could only hope for tons of evergreen spruce-like trees to set the anticipation.

Much agreed! I hope to see lots of trees and foliage there, covering it ALL up, so only after you get through the trees would you be able to see Hogsmeade.

I don't personally see Hippogriff fitting there. And I'm of the idea that the Great Hall dining experience should remain exclusive to Hollywood in the American market, at least to have some sort of exclusivity over there...

Aside from the location of said portrait, wasn't that also a tunnel that led to the room of requirement (Which is already in the land as the load platform for FJ)?

There were several secret tunnels that exited into hogsmeade. The one under the Whomping Willow went to the Shrieking Shack and the One Eyed Witch statue went to the basement of Honeydukes. The Hog's head to Room of requirement tunnel was created out of necessity because when Snape took over (in the last book), he had all previous known passages blocked. It wouldnt be outside the realm of the story (especially if JK sanctioned it) that there was a passage the readers/the marauders map wasnt aware of.

I personally would like a tunnel that exits in the magical kitchen of hogwarts. You can have animatronic house elves, self cooking utensils, and some fun with a magic ceiling that shows the great hall "above." The kitchen in the books is said to have 4 long house tables that sit under their upstairs counterparts and the food is magically brought above. This would be a good place to display the food of the wizarding world, mixed with the real options they will find on the menu.

While a good idea, that portrait is located in a back room of the Hogs Head. Presenting yet another problem.

Here's a geeky question: was the portrait in front of the tunnel, or was the tunnel an extension of the portrait...?

I think it was just a secret passage, hidden by a portrait.

Which station? The Hogsmeade HE Station? If so, what do you mean by empty? :P We've seen theming start to begin and we've also seen aerial pictures where the train has been in there.

First post! Here's a view of the wall across the Hogsmeade entrance from Sunday.

^ The station ticketing area looks so much closer to the arch than I had imagined. The picture makes it appear only 50' away... it must be a photo illusion.

^Depending on what the lens is it could be compressing the image making it seem closer

I would estimate it to be about 20' behind the original wall that lead up to the arch (look back a page at the YouTube video walk up). Not that I consider myself to be necessarily good at estimating such things. That picture is taken with a Nikon DX format 35mm lens. I think the illusion is that the structure angles away from the arch and in the picture it almost appears to be across it.

Another interesting note is that Zonko's is still open.

They're probably waiting to finish the entrance plaza before they shut down another part of WWoHP. I can't imagine that it's been pleasant lately with the main entrance closed.

Yeah, the walk along the walls is somewhat easy as each wall panel is 4'. Counting the panels starting after the left arabian banner counts out to somewhere around 120'. That said, I would say the new station facade is roughly about the same distance of 100'.

The previous photo is definitely a photographic illusion and also my underestimate of the size and height of the new station facade.

I wish he had taken a picture looking down to let us know if new themed concrete had been laid.

Me too, but I'm assuming he did and just didn't tweet it. He's posting an update later tonight.

(That looks like a new concrete structure, where the games were removed.)
