Well then every family can sue Disney for lying to their kids that the Cinderella they met is THE Cinderella ;)

I was driving on the freeway Universal City and I could see the top of Hogwarts! Some people are saying our Hogwarts is small, but that is to put things in perspective. Also from Saddle Ranch and other places in Citywalk you can see Hogwarts.

Is it like that in Orlando where you can see Hogwarts from Citywalk and other places in the park? I have never been to Orlando.

Our castle is identical. All that is currently up is framing, how would they know? The castle basically sits on top of the framing.

UOR is obviously a lot more spacious, so Hogwarts can't be seen when in USF or CityWalk. It can, however, be spotted when walking around parts of UOR's perimeter if you're walking nearby or from a neighboring hotel. On-site hotels can also offer views of the castle.

Somewhere around 200 feet from the bottom of the show-building to the top of the highest spire I believe.

Side note of irony: Hogwarts will be the tallest themed park landmark in Southern California due to Tower of Terror being only 183 feet tall if I'm not mistaken.

Speaking of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, I'm a recent college grad with a Graphic Design/ Digital Media major and because I've become so fascinated with the Wizarding World, I decided to start making a digital rendering of Hogwarts at IOA on Photoshop!  Here's the work in progress!

Thanks Daniel!  It's definitely looking better than I expected right now!  I'm going to save this version, but I'm also planning to put more detail into Hogwarts and the rockwork and make it look more photorealistic as well!

Don't think there is an exact measurement publicly but Universal said the original in Islands of Adventure is around 150 feet.

It has to be under 200 feet or else they'll be saddled with putting red lights on the top of the castle. Thus why all of Disneyland's "peaks" are under 200. (Matterhorn, Tower of Terror, Fun Wheel)

The red light is why I assumed under 200 and I'm also assuming that they are as close as possible to hitting the threshold as the show building is probably 90 feet tall and the facade approximately doubles that.

Is that a California aviation rule or is that national? I've always only heard that rule in California.

I remember seeing in a WDW documentary regarding Everest and how it had to be under 200 feet due to the FAA laws so it's federal law I believe. Lord will know for sure as he's in aviation.

I thought the 200 foot limit was just a Florida thing. I did not think it applied to California. Look at Six Flags Magic Mountain. They have multiple rides that go over the 200 foot mark. Even the Universal City Plaza building on property is taller than 200 feet.

They do, but all those structures above the 200-foot mark have red indicators on them. You're allowed to have a structure go beyond 200 feet provided they have aircraft warning lights installed.

Yeah, and Disney and Universal don't want to ruin the esthetics of their themed environments. Plus, that's where good forced perspective comes in handy :)
