I know I’ve been stanning this film from the beginning, but, it’s a matter of where/when not if when it comes to Wicked at the parks. It’s more healthy speculating what experiences we get rather than if we get any.

They’re doing a meet and greet in the store. It’s limited in frequency and duration due to casting challenges (speculation is Cynthia and Ariana approve performers themselves), but it’s already occurring.

This could be Universal's version of Disney's reaction to the unexpected bombshell Frozen. I'm thinking Universal smelled Wicked success, but this is much stronger than anticipated. They may be making stuff up to do on the fly in order to capitalize.

Saw this with some friends yesterday, had a blast knowing absolutely nothing about Wicked. We're going to the OI Meetup in Feb with some of the group and they are inordinately excited for the Wicked stuff so hoping it'll still be there!

I doubt it’s going away anytime soon— between the popularity and the sequel being a year out it seems semi permanent. My understanding is the meet and greets become scheduled daily in April.

So since we are talking about the film...I wanted to talk about the biggest flaw in the story which is the Wizards plan

What Was the Wizard plan with Elphaba? Literally she comes to him asks to help the animals...and even says "I thought you would say that...." then is like but we need a good villain. Did he also do zero research on her? Did he not even ask if she had connects to the animals like...I dont know freeing an lion cub, being raised by a bear and being outraged at dillamondbeing arrested? Like feels like if your going to bring someone to your place and lay it on the table you would know more about who you are dealing with...I mean a simple test could have happened to see how loyal to animals she was.

Anyway wanted to bring it up, I read the book a long time ago and maybe it was more thought out in the book then here

Morrible wrote to him so he knew. He was hoping that Elphaba would care more about being popular and liked. At least that's my takeaway.

Morrible is unaware of Elphaba’s concerns for Animal rights. She writes the Wizard purely because of the strength of Elphaba’s innate power and they’re trying to coerce her to join him before she decides to overthrow him.

The Wizard’s pause when Elphaba says he needs to help the Animals shows how he WASN’T expecting it. He even glances toward Morrible before responding. But they need the Grimmerie opened.

he just says whatever because he is a snake oil salesman. Like Legacy stated early he was just using her to get what he wanted which was spies so the wizard could take control of more areas of Oz

It was such a balls to the wall "you want a musical, I'll give you a farfanooging musical" musical that filled my friend of Dorothy ass heart with so much joy.

I don't watch movies at the theater multiple times regularly, but I told friends I'll be there if they want to go.

I’ve now heard several people mention they are going to watch it a second time this week because they enjoyed it so much and they didn’t think they would. I also know a couple of people who’ve already seen it 3 or 4 times…

I’m seeing it for first time today, my sister has never seen the stage show and is excited but disappointed it’s only part 1. Can’t wait for her reaction that it’ll end on an absolute banger.
