Great official video! Can someone please explain how Universal plans to have the Hogwarts Express pull into the station at Kings Cross (without doing so in reverse)? It says it's one of the features of the attraction in the newly released details.

If we do in fact see the train pull into King's Cross, we will see it pull into the station in reverse; there's no way around that.

Real steam engines can reverse and often do, especially at stations at the end of a line, which the real King's Cross is.

EDIT:

In snagging that video, I came across someone describing the great smell of coal smoke, oil, and steam you only get from being around real steam engines. I hope Universal work some of their smell-o-vision magic to recreate that at the stations!

I don't think you'll get to Platform 9 and 3/4 until the train is back at KC and all riders from Hogsmeade have exited or nearly exited, therefore maintaining the illusion that it is waiting there just for you.

Do we know if it will be facing forwards or backwards on the IOA side of things?

I believe those are the guards, they just look dwarfed in comparison to the dragon. Goblins with wands would be a HUGE mistake and I can't see that getting past JKR

Agreed

For those not familiar with the back story:
Bill Weasley worked in Egypt as a Curse Breaker before taking a desk job in England. The Weasley family visited him there and also toured some of the Egyptian tombs. One of the pyramids that the family toured was full of skeletons of Muggles who had broken in and had "grown extra heads and stuff."

It hasnt done that during testing, but I guess it could. I'd say its closer to 3 minutes than 7 though.

I have heard of the train stopping halfway for the dementor attack to. But I wonder if they can implement some way to possibly edit down the ride to shorten or lengthen the trip depending on wait times. Like run a shorter version on peak days to potentially boost capacity if the problem really gets bad.

Eh, this is first and foremost an attraction, not a method of transportation. They shouldn't sacrifice the quality of the attraction to get people from park to park. We can walk as we've done for 15 years.

Regarding the HE, I am really curious how they are going to transition the windows, especially on the load side. Will one be able to see out from the hallways outside the compartments to the actual load station? If not, will they be projecting from the get-go... meaning, live load platform projections? Are the current load side windows blacked out or clear to the interior?

If not projections on load, how will they transition the windows to projections once loaded?
