Bwahahaha! Score one for Universal.

Sorry, I couldn't resist. After 2 days of "Omg, omg, omg the 7DMT is AMAZING!!!! A totally game changing experience! Oh and did I mention MagicBands rock hard! Like Hanson!" posts, I'm thrilled Uni tea bagged the 800lb gorilla in the market.

You guys don't think it was happenstance they lifted Betty into place the day after Disney's Twitter "event". At 1p in the middle of a holiday weekend? Can you say maximum exposure. Zero added effort.

Aerial video from @bobwadd1 and Pixels at the Parks. It's pretty jerky at the beginning, but it smooths out and gives a fantastic perspective on the dragon and the whole area really.

I know this is off-topic, but... If I had my druthers, with a lot in WWOHP being a bit dragon-heavy, DC would become a Quidditch coaster with the tall stands and goalposts built amongst it. Make the two tracks either Ireland vs. Bulgaria or Chudley Cannons vs. Holyhead Harpies.

Give it some Manta-style, headfirst RVs and broomsticks on the restraints to hold onto, and it would be perfect.

But I digress. :focus:

I agree. There's a dragon in FJ, Dragon Challenge is themed to dragons and a dragon in Gringotts and on top of the building. They definitely need to re theme Dragon Challenge into Quidditch. It's dragon overload!

Hate to say it but that's a shameful overflow queue. Way to completely kill the immersion. Could have been executed so much better for very little extra expenditure.

Where else did you want them to out it? That building is basically in the TM lot.?theres nowhere else that thing is going.

Also, I believe the TM Preview will be June 4th.

A wall would have helped, for starters. There are so many gaps in those trees, and the rear of the soundstage overhang could at least have been painted appropriately.

^ You're absolutely right. For the amount of effort they've put into everything else to create an immerse experience, the outdoor queue looks like something you'd find at Six Flags. Those buildings are way too tall to conceal with trees and foliage, they really should of created a canopy that limits what the guest can see. Perhaps this is a premature complaint though, as last year we saw Transformer's canopy go up at the last minute. Although I'm not holding my breath, because there are trees planted right in the middle of the queue pad, which would make it difficult to put something like that up.

Sigh...

Why cant they do what they had done with jaws? Put a fence with green mesh to block the view and make it blend in?

There is a large black wall completely around the whole thing. Trees planted on both sides. You won't be able to see out!

That's not my problem. My issue stems from the fact that if you look upwards you see two massive sound stages looming over you. And looking at the screen grab closer, it looks like they've installed street lamps, meaning the chances of getting a canopy are slim to none.

Yeah I hope this queue ins't a cop out to making a longer detailed interior queue. Hopefully the inside queue is of sufficient length that this won't be needed much after this initial summer. How will the transition be explained from bank lobby to outside and then into the vaults. At least for forbidden journey they can call it a "greenhouse" and get away with it.

Right, an according to what we've seen, this extended queue is on par with the likes of Shrek and Twister. I'm surprised Warner Bros is letting them get away with this.

I don't have a problem with this kind of extended queue in its own right. But when used mid-queue it is immersion breaking and kinda disappointing. If it was at the beginning I wouldn't have as much of an issue with it. But they don't want it visible from diagon alley and likewise with FJ so you have to pick and choose where to break the immersion. Lines are the enemy of immersion. I think if they covered gringott's extended queue and made it at least appear to be an interior, they could have made a joke with you waiting in line at the bank. Then once back inside a goblin escorts you to the vaults.

Can someone do a screen-cap and post it here of the outdoor Q in discussion? Thanks. Greatful for the video but if I didn't skim through it I probably would have barfed!

Holy switchback hell! I'll ditto the opinion that the outdoor queue looks unacceptable. How can you go from perhaps the most immersively themed land in the world into a Six Flags-style outdoor queue? Also, it looks like guests will be exposed to the elements (heat, sun, rain) plus standing (of course) for a very long period of time. Not too mention, bland switchbacks are mild form of mental torture. Not a good combination.

Hopefully, I'm overreacting and it's not that bad in person.
