Well, Shrek 4D was fun years ago, and the HHN Houses in Shrek where sometimes great. Now it's time to move on to what UC has in store for us.

I just hope the new interactive walk through is as fun as the Super Nintendo World one that recently opened in Japan.

I know we've talked about this before, but one, if not the MAIN reasons for what they're doing... is time.

They could design and build a new ride, but it will take time. They could knock down the building and build a cloned ride, but it will take time. Or, they could do something mighty quick, for now. And tear it down for a new ride later.
I feel this is a temporary solution at best

Temporary meaning a few years until EU gets open

I think this is a solid happy medium for where Uni is at right now since SLOP seems out of the picture. We keep the humor of Shrek's preshow with the meet & greet, the ride film still exists elsewhere, and they get to refresh the park with something new that by no means has to be permanent while EU is being developed.

Upset because they actually rode it everytime they visited or upset that a meme is leaving the park?

Also, Shrek 4D is trending on Twitter because everything is stupid
Memes are a precious resource, Shiekra. Don't discount this loss! Also, you're a stronger person than I am for being able to put up with Twitter. :whiteflag:

Twitter taught me that no matter how bad things get, I could always be as miserable as a lot of people on Twitter

Speaking of Ogre's and Donkeys

Donkey is not mentioned as leaving and I wonder if Shrek will continue to be a walkaround character

I vote for leaving it until ready to replace it with something permanent and worth being at the front of the park.

I'll also say that if this attraction is temporary, I'm inclined to believe it to be the case. This isn't like Disney where there's multiple longstanding "temporary" attractions. Lookin' at you, BatB show in DHS.

What if that takes 5-8 years?
If that’s the timeline we’re working with here, how can anyone consider this “temporary”?

If this is a temp solution, I’d be in the camp of just letting it stay as is until something “good” can be invested into it. It’s harmless, decently popular, and Shrek still sells. I have to think whatever’s coming here will be there for the long haul.

With the amount of stuff that needs to be replaced at USF, I don't see how the Shrek replacement/Villain Con leaves before the resort's 40th. Simpsons (and presumably MIB) will be gone before the end of the decade, and Rockit needs to be retracked/replaced with a new coaster sooner than later. Let's not forget about KidZone either.

From the sounds of it there won't be any "ride infrastructure" to remove when the time comes

Even though a trackless DM shooter attraction seems like a really fun idea to me

I still remember Alfred Hitchcock: The Art of Making Movies fondly.
It started with a holding area with a presentation about Hitchcock.
Then you moved into a movie theater that showed a 3D movie part of the Birds, then we moved over to a movie set and sat down to watch how the shower scene was filmed. It was both informative and funny. And than to an exhibition space where sets where placed where you could act out your own scene.

I can see this go down as a Minion Villain-Con attraction:
- Holding area where Bob and Kevin show us how exciting they are to be in Orlando to visit Villain-Con and we watch clips of commercials about the con.
- Entering the convention center theater where we eventually meet Scarlet Overkill and get a special effects villain show with a lot of humor.
- We move on to the Con floor where we can try out the fart-gun and other insane weapons from the movies and we get to see the latest gadgets demonstrated. It's an interactive area on steroids and photo opportunities.
