While I know Marvel is a big deal right now, how stupid could Disney actually be? The HOLLYWOOD Tower Hotel is in the CALIFORNIA Adventure park...not many California themed attractions in that park. Why take out one that very much fits for a space themed hero ride? Makes no sense to me.

(But of course this is the same Disney that put Frozen in Norway, Avatar in Animal Kingdom, and Monsters Inc in the Tomorrowland. Why would I be surprised?)

On their maps and such, M&Gs are listed as attractions. You said The GoG stuff wasn't an "attraction".

That's not even close to what I said...

"The Meet & Greet was originally advertised as a "Dance Party" that featured no characters. It wasn't until you got there is when you realized what it really was."

I think Avatar is a great fit for AK, personally. And Marvel could easily fit in DCA. Much more than in Disneyland.

Just not in Tower of Terror.

If this really does come to fruition, I want to be there the day the Disney Parks Blog actually has to make the post detailing that this is happening. I'm praying that we have a Toy Story musical situation on our hands where the guest feedback is so overwhemingly negative that they just decide that it's not worth it. They have an entire back poriton of this land with four buildings, one of which houses a semi-decent Monsters Inc overlay of the worst Disney dark ride ever made and now a bonafide extinct attraction. That area is sizable and those buildings can be easily gutted. Put your damn Marvel stuff in there, Chapek.

It does fit better in DCA. They're just being extremely lazy.

Well supposedly the Captain America launch coaster is still in the works so they are expanding slightly.

It's gonna be so sad when the only MCU attractions in the world are rethemed Star Tours, RNRC, and TOT

I wonder if the rumored Captain America launch coaster will be a RNRC clone, or if it could be a clone of Tron at Shanghai themed to Cap's motorcycle.

They can build these at all other parks(not Orlando)

Also isn't there a rumor floating that Doom and Storm force are being removed and a new ride/area going in there ?That agreement might include an amendment to allow GoG in Disney World ? They may can get Disney to advertise with jointly with Comcast ? I would guess that both Disney and Universal's legal teams (and executives) know this contract backwards and forwards .But a behind the scene agreement is not ruled out. As long as it benefits both companies.

Also if Comcast invests Billions on a third Park wouldn't Disney get a cut of that gate (park hoppers and AP's ) Universal has a bunch of new IP's they may take reduced cut of gate(or end it entirely) and turn over unused Marvel IP's back to Disney With an Agreement to run MSHI for a term (say 20 years). Plus Disney doesn't fight or try to block 3rd gate when building permits or local government agreements are needed . Can you say Orlando Area wide Monorail (a wish on my part)

We are used to saying this is a War/Contest between Comcast/Universal and Disney/Marvel but they see it as a Joint venture that benefits both companies. I expect that to continue .

I still can't believe, of all things, they'd choose the ST system for Iron Man. So dated in terms of screen/3D tech. Plus, Iron Man can freakin fly... HE'S the one that should be getting a coaster.

And I have no love lost for the DCA TOT, but a GoG ride is just stupid. Tear the sucker down and rebuild if you're trying to create a Marvel Land. I can't help but to compare to MSHI, which has both a launch coaster and a drop tower. What's next, a tea cups ride? 3D simulator?

Actually, Universal is going to pay Disney a couple hundred million dollars to get them to take the rights back. That's how badly Universal wants Marvel out of their park!

Doubt it. Comcast has been VERY clear about their mission here in Orlando and that's to bring Disney down to 2nd place. That's as clear as day for us locals, and I have to say IMO they've done a great job. So "working together"?, Sure... when pigs fly. I think Comcast loves the idea of keeping Marvel on a leach here in Orlando, besides think about this... Marvel was acquired by Disney in 2009. 6 to 7 yrs later there's zero E ticket attraction in any of their local parks.... and all of a sudden they want to take and ancient attraction and rethemed it as Marvel, so they can sell it as new? Ah! NO!, Let them keep filming movies and let Comcast deliver the brand like it should be delivered, because obviously they are the only ones that can.

Universal has a long way to go before they are #1 in Orlando. I don't care how much they have done so far, the majority of the GP that visits Orlando comes here for Disney or Harry Potter. And the majority of HP people spend 4 days at Disney and 2 or 3 at Universal. I am not saying Universal is not making great progress, they are. Nor am I saying they will never overtake Universal, they can. But Disney is not going to lay down (evident from SWL) and let this happen. They also have a name that people just gravitate to when people have kids. It is not just as simple as you make it out. It could be 20+ years before there is a shift to Uni being #1. They need way more hotels, the 3rd park, way more family friendly stuff, etc. They also need to get people to visit them that have gone to Disney for years. I still can't convince people to try Universal. Even those that now LIVE in Orlando and moved here to be closer to the parks. I got them to try Disney, but they won't try Universal. I will get them to eventually. But everyone I finally convince to try Universal always comes back with the same comments. The new Harry Potter lands are great, but the rest of the park doesn't have Disney Magic. They may go back again, but not for a long time. Every single one of them. I haven't made a fan out of any of them. Even people without kids tell me the same thing. It is so frustrating. Heck my own husband would go to Disney any day, but I struggle to get him to Universal. I finally got him to see the Christmas stuff after years of me wanting to go to see it and honestly it was a huge letdown compared to Disney or Sea World for both of us. Universal needs to work on the whole package to overtake Disney and it is a long road for them.

Really? why would that be? and it is not like Disney will do anything major with Marvel anyway. Look at the great opportunity with Avatar and all we are getting is 2 same old technology rethemed attractions... good for them! NEEEEXT!!! I mean, if Comcast could take DC for Six Flags then I would say, give rights back to Disney and BTW! Uni paying Disney to give them their rights? Shouldn't be all the way around?
