I'm not sure they won't. They capped multnight Express last year (and experimented with the low-crowd preview night). They seem well aware of the issue, and open to fixing it however they can.

Tho I agree, need to upgrade the food and show options, too. Capacity can't be just new houses.

at least 1 more house and 1 more show feel like something they can viably do

it would be a whole lot more embarrassing if horror nights started using the same off-the-shelf props I can buy on amazon.

LA Haunted Hayride & Queen Mary's Dark Harbor both were filled with animatronics you can find at home depot, lowes, spirit, etc... it would be a severely massive downgrade for HHN. They also would not work for an event that sees never-ending crowds of people like HHN.

HHN needs the human element, staffing be damned.

maybe not the exact same animatronics that home Depot sells but I was thinking more about universal adapting or creating the system underneath the puppet.
universal would create original puppets and not buy the generic ones from these stores, but maybe create simple animatronic systems that have the universal original puppets coming out automatically.

but universal is going to have to figure out something about the problem with staffing.
I heard so many people mention the empty spaces of hhn33, this year I saw a lot of comments
it's just that an event in the level and cost of hhn shouldn't have this problem if they can fix it. ( and it's clear that staffing issues is never going to really be solved just because there isn't enough actors)

some people have mentioned removing zones to staff the houses, but even then it doesn't solve the problem, because then you have empty streets. to me that's also worse off.

obviously I would prefer actors instead of animatronics. but puppets like chupacabra or werewolves could have been automatic.
( my point about the home Depot props is that the technology could be adapted, )

I wonder if Epic pulls the interests of lots of locals, that HHN attendance might suffer. Only so much money, and time, out there. If that happens they won't need more houses or shows.

probably depends on the ticket situation for epic at the time, right? if annual passes aren't available yet, I imagine we wouldn't see a huge impact on horror nights attendance.

I doubt they'll have annual passes then....but... it's September and they'll probably have lots of Epic tickets available.

but are locals, many of whom have already been to epic, going to buy additional epic ticket packages in September and October rather than go to Horror Nights? maybe! but I tend to doubt it.

I agree - ignore anything from that year entirely lol

But if there's one standout SZ that could theoretically fit a house, it's Torture Faire (even though Goblin's was a similar aesthetic).

The unbridled hate towards 33 is astounding.

Torture Faire, Swamp of the Undead, and Demon Queens would be great haunted houses.

I'm definitely curious to see how crowds are with Epic opening.

We're personally planning a shorter trip this year, focusing only on Epic and HHN - maybe 1 day for IOA.

There's also the issue of Epic Universe not being included (or upgrade available) with your current AP, so you have to decide between spending cash to Epic or HHN. I don't think we should write off the possibility of people skipping HHN next year in favor of Epic Universe (or vice versa - wait for Epic-inclusive APs).

These concepts have been done in house form already... Torture Faire was essentially Goblin's Feast, Swamp of the Undead was an Everglades version of Dead Waters from 2017. Demon Queens would be interesting, but would probably follow a similar design/pace to Icons, which didn't work out too well IMO.

With Epic tickets probably being tough to get during the first couple months, and long attraction lines, I can see local people jumping on late August and September for tickets that will probably be plentiful and shorter Epic lines. It could be a tough Sept. for Studios and IOA, and maybe HHN. There's not a lot of tourists except for the UK masses that love Sept. ....October might be OK though since the tourists trickle back due to short Oct. school vacations through most of the US.

of course I have the natural worry of staffing with a new park on top of what seems to be 12 houses, while it is without a doubt super exciting...my biggest concern this year will continue to be, IMO, them getting "back on track" with the event quality, zones, overarching theme, merch, food, and lagoon/second show, major major aspects that need a big bounce back from last year.

I definitely hope to see a lagoon show back this year - that could help tremendously.

And like @Mad Dog said - I'm intrigued to see how the parks will look in September. I imagine the crowds at Epic will be lower than during the summer, as things are just generally slower early in September. But I could definitely see people cutting out the current parks to focus on Epic and HHN. I can't imagine HHN slowing down in any real capacity.

the opposite could happen.
what if people think " epic will be there always, but we better check these new hhn houses"
or people choosing to travel to Vegas. ( I'm not saying that will happen, but it could ...)
obviously everyone will be happy to visit epic. but hhn is always new and very short. if they bring 12 houses and new shows and different streets then would people choose hhn?
as a local I could see a person waiting to see epic later.
( unless epic has unique experiences and shows or characters meets during October)

I disagree a little. if anything from 33 returns I hope is years from now. there are more things that deserve to return more than stuff from 33 lol. 33 stuff could come back but I hope it's a while away

Going back to this, this is a great idea imo. If they do decide to do a 12th house this would work.

What I WANT (not a rumor) is a Hajikuma zone in Hollywood and then they throw the Chainsaw Man video from HHN Japan last year in the Bourne theater. It’s ONLY a film, so no one has to be on-stage. They just have to show a film.

Then the zone isn’t Japan-centric. Hollywood, in this scenario, would basically be a “HHN Japan” zone.
