Oh great, I must've missed that. Finally.

I agree, I'd just like to see something new or even possibly original. I feel like it's just gonna basically be the entry scarezone but on sets now.

Is it me or why does that creature resemble a bit of Dr. Satan to me..it might just be Nostalgia.

I like the name and i'm glad that they are having this be the first shared announcement.

Location confirmed: Jurassic Park overflow queue

Okay so the 2013 Insidious maze was the highest rated maze in the history of HHN, at least that's what Murdy claims. Obviously, I have only seen a 'meh'-quality video walkthrough of it, so I don't know how the actual experience was. That just seems like a big thing to boast with an event that is going on its 16th year (yes, I count the pre-2006 event years.) Was the 2013 maze really that good and/or scary? I've never seen the movies, had no desire to, so I'm just curious to know how good the previous maze was...

Glad to see Murdy is attempting to adapt the first two films differently and won't be an exact repeat of 2013. Hopefully they will solve the low lying fog effect this year. The biggest problem with Into the Further was it was very dependent on timed effects that were easy to miss. It was a good maze regardless but if you were lucky enough to witness everything then it really was spectacular.

I thought the Insidious maze from 2013 was the best one from that year. I went through multiple times with friends and we had a ton of fun in it each time. Just my personal experience with it. I'm pumped to have it coming back!

In a bit of unrelated news, The official start of the event will mirror Orlandos for September 18th. This was confirmed by a small update to the facebook cover.

I thought that was pretty much to be expected after the past few years. I'm more curious to see how many nights the event will have this year compared to last year.

As for Insidious, I'm banging my head against the wall repeatedly reading the posts from Orlando people saying "Oh our version is all 3 films, while Hollywood's seems to be only the 3rd movie".. I love that people failed to read the wording used on the website and/or Murdy's tweets. Sorry Orlando, you're not getting something exclusively different from Hollywood. lol

I enjoyed it. As mentioned above, there were some timed effects that enhanced the scenes. If you were able to see those effects in full, it really added a lot to the experience.

Yeah, I enjoyed the 2013 version as well and agree with the timed effects making it better. I went that year on the last night of HHN and the 2nd time I went through the Insidious maze, I was right behind Chris Williams (Murdy's 2nd hand man). All the scareactors were breaking character and giving Chris hugs and hi-fives the entire time

It was still pretty intense though.

What the hell did I just watch?  So I just watched "This Is The End" and I feel dumber now after watching that. I really really really DON'T want to have a maze wasted on this movie when we could've had Krampus or a classic monsters maze instead! I'd even say Alice Cooper round 3... or you know, Freddy vs Jason!!

Seriously though... I was trying to be optimistic about this IP rumor, but now actually having watched the movie that I had no desire to see in the first place... just no.

is it too late to vote Murdy off the island or do we just pray to the HHN gods that its a carny trick for something better?

^ Hill's already done his part for the maze, so it's too late to say it's a carny trick.

I know people will hate me for this, but..I'm all in for This is the End. I will say this; I think theres good potential to bring in a Penn&Teller Nuked experience here and ontop of that, theres a lot of potential to bring in interactive elements for this house in particular. So yea, besides that; I'm in for this and I want to see the end result.

Embrace it, you know it to be true..

I'm wondering what'll be next to be announced, if I was Universal; I'd probably have Scream announced for Orlando and Halloween announced next for Hollywood.

I say AvP may be next, Halloween may be saved for ScareLA. And I agree... they have a lot to work with with "This is the End", come on, it's a post-apocalyptic environment. A lot of potential here. I love the idea, and hopefully it's executed well. Like I stated, people would either hate it or love it.

but... but.. even if it is "a lot to work with", I don't want to embrace the giant demon penis!

I would've rather seen Mad Max as our "out of the box" post-apocalyptic IP maze... or you know, Murdy could've dug deep back into 2008 and given us "Doomsday" like Orlando did (i really need to watch that movie again... see if i still don't like it). While i didn't care for the house that year, i enjoyed the attention from the scareactors I knew. Nothing better than being grabbed by one pulled backstage & passed off to another. ah..the good old days..

Eitherway... I expect to hear Gangnam Style & Backstreet's Back... just sayin..

One of Murdy's more recent tweets seem to indicate that TWD will be announced next. In response to a Twitter user, "thank you now it's time to piss people off. LOL"

This is the End was a decently funny movie, if a bit stupid. The best part was the first 20 minutes with the celebs sending themselves up and it literally all goes to hell haha. Really haven't thought about it since release, and it's a stupid maze choice but whatever.

I was thinking about it last night, what if This is the End is actually this year's terror tram and not an actual maze? I know this would interfere with the Purge rumor and leaves the 'outside of the box' maze theme still up in the air, but hear me out. John Murdy has been tweeting about working with a special consultant for Terror Tram this year for quite a while. This could possibly be someone involved with the movie, like Jonah Hill or James Franco. If Jonah Hill has recently filmed bits for the 'maze' like rumors suggest, this could possibly tie in with the on board tram video. Murdy has also mentioned how this year's tram video features lots of blood, and practical effects. I could easily see those types of gags relating to This is the End, more so than the Purge. Since the new Purge movie is not going to be released until next year, I personally don't see it making a comeback until then. The post apocalyptic setting in This is the End also aligns perfectly with the Backlot setting. I could see it work better for Terror Tram than a full maze imo. Just something I thought to consider myself. You never do know until announcements are made.
