guys just a suggestion, ellen loves twitter and has done all sorts of stuff with hers. when she was traveling to colleges she would tweet people to meet her in certain places dressed up and such for prizes. i dont think she will do anything like that for wwohp but if there is anything super cool going on there she will likely post it o her twitter.

i will be watching it closely. i suggest other ppl do the same.
i have a feeling we will find something out from there.

WOOT!! finally got through it all both forums....omg that took a while. I'm new to OU and love all the spoilers. I won't be down to Orlando until September so i am living vicariously through those of you who get to enjoy the parks regularly. I want to express my thanks to all of those who have contributed the wonderful pictures. They have made me want the next 5mths to hurry up and fly by.

Pretty pretty please can someone let the Uk folk know what happens on the Ellen show. I have checked our channels and it seems the Ellen shows we get are really old episodes:pray:
Thanks:kiss:

I'm in the UK, and my wife watches Ellen. The one that was on the other days was just a few days behind its original airdate in the US. Its on a fairly obscure Sky channel called 'Diva'.

That'd be great if some soft of softs started as early as April - put a lot of peoples minds at rest who've booked before 18th June :)

With this Ellen show, is it normally put up on some kind of website or youtube?

Just checked and this channel is also available on Virgin media, but only for XL package customers.

Thanks Mookie, nice catch.
After watching the "ice" at Nassals inner city location myself last summer, i was already worried that they wouldn't add the ice to the real thing. But they did!

Thanks friscojacks, yes thats the SKY channel I was looking at, DIVA, but the ones Iv checked a couple of times were very old. They also have old episodes of Oprah etc Last nights episode of Ellen showed a fawn popping through a cat flap and discussed that it was the last epidsode of ER, I thought that was a while ago? But the background was spring looking, so maybe Im wrong? Perhaps they show a mix of old episodes and some newer ones? Anyway I have found the Ellen web site, and it is advertising the April shows (loved the old photos people paid for:lol:), so Im hoping I can see it on there, IF and I know its a bit IF she goes anywhere near WWOHP. But Iv read on here that she asked for Harry Potter fans, so my money is on that she will do a walk through of some sorts, even if she doesnt get near the FJ.
Not wishing to sound smug, but Im so glad Im taking my family over the last 2 weeks of August, I realise it will shut earlier, but Im fine with that.. But I really hope those of you going anytime soon do get your softs.:tinkerbell: Im willing magic on your wishes.

Hey, anyone on this forum been on one of the few existing Kuka rides during an e-stop? I'm just curious if the arms automatically move to an evacuation position. I assume FJ will have back up power for an evacuation in the event of a power outage.

I shall quote rss001 again. The poster who deleted his comments and upon the press release and info. we found out everything he said was true. He was the first to mention this. (I'm not trying to attack you, just making sure it's clear that rss was the messenger of the enchanted bench)

...

Thanks for bringing those back up. I noticed them a while ago on the video you first see on the site, I hope these become a reality in the park!

From rss001 back in February...

However, I wonder how often it has been cycling this month, considering this post was back in Feb.

Well said. And thanks for the link, I shall be following on Sunday!

And thanks for taking care of business around these parts ralphoutloud! :mib:

I don't feel attacked at all, and you are absolutely correct. I had forgotten the correct source. (This forum is huge and it takes an enormous amount of time, energy and focus to stay abreast of everything.)

As for my stance regarding "choosing sides". I choose the side of civility. Personally, I have thought that SAS's information and tone seemed genuine and I have looked forward to his/her posts. (I was disappointed when s/he seemed to be run off and/or perhaps wasn't sincere and "disappeared".) Teebin clearly has "inside" information and I am also very thankful for those posts. S/he can also be very nasty in tone and I have expressed my discomfort regarding that aspect of her/his posts. (I don't understand why s/he seems so provoked by the mere presence of SAS. It comes off as petty to me.)

"Wednesday" happened and as SAS clearly stated that nothing was planned and I believe mistaken, it seemed that SAS might not have the "inside" that had been implied. (I still am fairly convinced that SAS is working on the project.)

Anyway... why any of this is important: I have an interesting opportunity to hitch a ride with some friends who are actually driving from New York to the Orlando area right after the April 9 date. I have extremely limited funds and I realize that "softs" are always a risk, but if SAS does have inside information and there is a "strong" possibility that The Wizarding World will be in soft trials, I'd risk the expense and make the journey. If finances weren't so tight, this wouldn't be an issue, but they are and I'd like to hedge my bet.

So... SAS please be sincere, or at least PM me and let me know that the 9 and/or 13 April dates are/aren't real. If you have inside information, thank you and I appreciate everything you've added to this forum. If you aren't "sincere" and are using this as an opportunity to provoke a reaction, please understand that your actions have a very real and profound effect on my financial situation and ability to experience The Wizarding World in person.

Jym.... Read everything I wrote. I told you there would be a lighting test but no major event. To the general public that is what you got. Previously there were no great pictures of Hogwarts lit up at night. Motivated people who wanted to get those shots had the chance that night. I was trying to discourage others from traveling to the park for what was a very small and private event. No one rode Forbidden Journey that day.

This leads me to believe someone has rode FJ but know one did that night....

Wow, I cannot believe that every source of media is promoting this as an entire theme park. Don't they do their research? I was on Yahoo Movies and they did a little gallery of the concept artwork, promoting as an entire park at Universal... all the people posting were so happy :( I cannot wait to see all the pissed off/ confused/ or disappointed families when summer rolls around.

Meanwhile Disney is sprucing up the magic kingdom like crazy. It's about time as well, that park has been looking faded, outdated, and worn for a while now. Here's a fun fact: all the exhausted workers for WWOHP are now working on the fantasyland expansion. Poor unfortunate souls, may they get paid overtime.

Didn't a security guard (that was chatted up) back in the first thread imply that he had rode it before clamping his mouth shut?

I don't know how an E Stop works on a Kuka arm but at Sum of All Thrills at EPCOT there is an emergency stop button for those who freak out which will stop the ride returning them to a normal position. Even though there is no such button on FJ it would have a similar function for a E Stop that wouldn't leave you hanging sideways or anything will waiting to be taken off the ride.

That would be the guy I talked with who seemed to imply he hasn't rode it but "seen it all" which makes me believe he has been into scenes of the actual ride.

I would believe that it is not even possible for someone to ride Forbidden Journey at this current time. They're probably still testing it and they can't have riders on it during testing, from what I've heard.
